This old oak buffet was a dream to work with. Structurally intact with clean lines carved, I decided to paint using the carved lines as my guide. The main body was painted with a mix of Driftwood on the sides, base and panels and the rest with aged oak woodstain. I then also gilded in gold along the raised carvings. The piece was then sealed with High Performance Top Coat. 

So sweet and feminine, this piece was refinished for a little girl's room. 

Dining table top and chairs have been painted and distressed sealed with clear wax. Seat and dining top stained with Java gel and sealed with General  Finishes  high  performance top coat 

This lovely buffet was completed in General Finishes Milk Paint Linen. With lightly distressed around drawers. Top stained in General Finishes Java Gel 

This tall gal was gorgeous! When I picked this piece up it was overall in excellent shape for its age; scratches and blemishes here and there, missing two trim pieces on the drawer but very sturdy with a lot of potential. After making new trim pieces I decided it was far too pretty to cover the beautiful wood grain with a solid coat of paint. Instead, it received a light wash in General Finishes Lamp Black, distressed back through to see the original finish and sealed with several coats of General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in Flat.

This was a labor of love because it was a special gift for my mom.  She wanted a small simple desk, so I got to work.  I found this beautiful sofa table but new it would be perfect as a desk.  I already had a chair in my inventory that would look great with it so now it was time to make them pretty.  I chose Nantucket Green Chalk Style Paint as I did a previous piece for my mom in that color and she loved it.  I sanded the top down and kept it natural because the grain was beautiful.  I just added some shellac to make it bright and shiny.

I found this vanity on Craig's list in rough shape. I brought it home, removed bad veneer, and filled. Cleaned her up and painted her in peacock chalk paint with General Finishes black glaze. Wet distressed and sealed. A favorite of mine!

Antique china cabinet painted in Holiday Red with a medium distress and a coat of dark wax to bring out the detail. This was the first big red piece I did. Now I can't stop using this beautiful color!!! 

A new wood front door for a home like this can cost thousands. Getting the door ready was the hardest part.  I basecoated the door with a regular satin paint. Then took my little can of Van Dyke Brown Glaze from General Finishes and created a beautiful faux oak door!  I then sealed it with an exterior clear.  

When I saw this desk at a yard sale, I knew it had good bones but it needed a new look! I wanted something unique and bright so I chose Persian Blue with gold gilding wax highlights. The original hardware was updated with a dark bronze color. The desk top was protected with High Performance Top Coat in Flat. I think the desk looks fabulous with her new look!

This upcycled cabinet door is now the perfect statement piece for any nautical inspired room. Painted with General Finishes Coastal Blue with an Antique White Salt Wash texture to really emphasis the coastal distressed look. A distressed anchor was painted with General Finishes Empire Gray and the words "Hope anchors the soul" painted with Antique White to match the salt wash texture. This piece is a beautiful, coastal inspired reminder to to stay anchored in the Lord, where our hope should lie.

This dresser became a stunning beauty when transformed with GF Nautical Blue!  A dark stain was applied to the top, reclaiming its beauty.  

This custom headboard was refinished in complimenting two tone colors of General Finishes Seagull Gray and Snow White.  I love the curves and detail on the top.  Hopefully no matter how sleepy the owner is, she never gets tired of looking at this headboard.

This pretry little vintage dresser needed some refreshing. The wooden top and drawer fronts have been restored. The faded gold gilding has been shined back up. The rest of the piece has received several coats of GF Milk Paint in coastal blue. Finally it was sealed in gf hptc in satin. 

This aged oak bar was refinished in loads of layers. Sanded and cleaned, then primed and base coated, the piece was then glazed, top coated, and waxed with three shades of wax. 

This Dining table came to me in a reasonable condition. solid wood legs and feet.  Veneer on the top. 

I wanted to test the Java gel stain.  The only good thing about this veneer top is it had a nice grain to it. 

The result after Appling a thin coat of Java gel stain was stunning.  The grain from the veneer shone through,

The top was finished off with the general finishes high performance top coat in satin. I used 4 coats. 

The bottom of this table has been done in Basil milk paint.  completely compliments the java. 

Drawers, bedsides  and wardrobe  Upcycled in strong colours  and Corinth Blue with funky polka dot handles. This was a fun set to do .

I just finished this beautiful end table for a client of mine and I love how it turned out! It already had the marble top, so I painted the bottom in a custom mixed chalk paint and I used black glaze to bring out the detail and give it an antiqued look. I also used General Finishes High Performance top coat to protect it and give its nice sheen. Beautiful table and a pretty pop of color!

Here's a gorgeous statement piece!  I used GF coastal blue milk paint in coast blue.

I then accented all the details with gold metallic paint. The inside of the dresser was done in the same colors!

Every single time I use this color I want to keep the piece. It's bold, the perfect WOW color, and delivers a true statement to your room. 

When I choose red, I'm going into it the transformation with the possibility I may keep the piece or "sit" on it for a while. I finished this piece at 2 a.m. , took pics and listed by 3 a.m. and it was sold by 7 a.m. 

Do not be afraid of color. The world needs more if it. Do what you love. 

The front drawers on this waterfall side table is refaced with Birch bark from Corner Brook, Nfld and the base is painted antique white. The combination makes it the perfect addition to any decor

Can we paint countertops? Why yes we can! This outdated laminate countertop started out an off white with a bit of a lavender hue. After priming with BIN, many GF products transformed this countertop into an updated version of faux granite! A time consuming technique using water along with GF milk paints in Linen, Millstone, and Lamp Black along with black and Van Dyke Brown glaze made this countertop go from boring to stunning. It was all sealed with HPTC in Gloss. What a gorgeous look for a fraction of the cost!

I wanted to emphasize the size of this fabulous buffet so I decided to go bold with the colour. I painted the entire piece in Tuscan red and used pitch Black glaze effects in the carvings. I then gilded the carvings with gold along the front, sides and the balcony back. The whole piece was then sealed with High Performance Top Coat. She's now big and beautiful in Red.

Clean, fresh and modern, this nightstand was refinished in Coastal Blue. 

I just love the colors that General Finishes and so did my client, she want a fun piece in her foyer and we sure did accomplish that. 

Love this Coral Crush layered under Halycon Blue, sealed with High Performance Flat. 

This piece was missing half of a leg and had holes in it in many places. I repaired the leg and filled in the holes with wood filler. Then peeped it, painted antique white and topped it off with General Finishes burnt umber glaze. 

Someone I love very much was under the weather this week.  I'm hoping the addition of this piece in her room brings a smile to her face!

To create this look I mostly used Vittorino paints in 6 colors: Bawełna, Szary świt, Sprany jeans, Kamienna grota, Caffe latte and the newest one called Stare złoto read Old gold. I layered colors one by one and blend them to achieve a variety of different shades. Heavily distressed to give it an old and worn look. I wanted door to have the same ornament details as the original ones placed on drawers. In order to this I created a stencil and applied it on door using Embossing Plaster. Base of the piece was waxed and the top sealed with High Performance Flat.

This beautiful weathered coastal table didn't always look like that. It was a boring shade of dark green! After sanding down the entire table and using General Finishes Stain Blocker, I layered a few light blues, sea foam greens, and browns. Distressed a little, ordered a pizza, and called it a day. 

This piece was so pretty in person, my long time client snatched it up before it even was listed for sale! 

I upstyled this bland and lets face it boring laminated half moon table using a subtle palette of colours encased in luxourise general finishes "icing on the cake" flat out protective varnish 

Thos dated but solid desk came to my shop looking well past its prime. It had a worn, faded and chipped finish and looked very dated. The base of the piece has been painted in GF Milk Paint in halcyon blue. The top was painted in GF Milk Paint in dark chocolate. Some of the natural wood was allowed to show throug in the detailed xarving and then it was light topped with bits of patina rubbing wax. 

The height of this piece made a statement of its own so I decided on a classical look for it. I painted it in Coastal blue milkpaint and sealed with High Performance Top Coat to add a beautiful sheen to it. I gilded the top rim in gold and added mouldings to each drawer which were also gilded. Standing on Queen Anne legs, she certainly makes for a impressive piece. 

Hi there Friends! We bought this piece and new exactly what we were going to do with her! She's a vintage dresser, but to old to hold clothes so we gave her lots of TLC and transformed her into a lovely Foyer piece for one of our clients! This lovely chest was refinished for a little boy's room. 

We painted this beautiful French provincial credenza in Persian Blue Milk Paint and stained the top using Java gel stain. To say we love this combination is an understatement! This piece makes a perfect media center and did we mention Persian blue may be our favorite color! 

This small desk vanity was brought back to light using General Finishes Milk Paint Coral Crush.

Who couldn't image this guy in their room next to a roaring fire!!

The berber carpet on our rear stairs was old, dirty and worn, so we decided to rip it out.  It seemed like a good idea at the time, but like a scene from the movie, "What Lies Beneath", the stairs were scary, ugly and rough, really rough.   I wanted the look of dark hardwood floors, but the cost of replacement stair treads was way out of budget.  As a long time furniture upcycler with General Finishes as my "go to" for products, I thought why not use it on the stairs?  Epiphany!   So I filled and plugged all of the gaps and what seemed like millions of nail holes with wood filler.

Perfectly refinished in Brick Red GF. I also used a black glazed and sealed with clear gloss!

I started with GF Seagull Gray on the elegant long Queen Anne style legs of this table then glazed with GF Winter White Glaze Effects. The top Is a base of GF Seagull Gray, layer of HPTC, then a wash of Driftwood, Seagull Gray & Winter White Glaze with a little of GF Extender mixed in. Both the top & the legs were then sealed with HPTC in Satin. 

Form and function balance beautifully with a nautical boat repurposed as a home décor bookcase. Patina Green and Grey Gel Stain play perfect partners in this simple, but beautiful transformation. My favorite thing about this boat project: it was a very simple, quick project with impressive results!

I stained the entire sides and legs with Java Gel. I then taped off the areas for the Brick Red and painted those. After it dried I proceeded to paint the Federal Blue. This was a labor of love for my daughter, it was her request to use the natural wood instead of adding white. I finished with HP Topcoat- 7 coats. She wanted lots of protection. I'm from England and all of my children really embrace their English and American heritage. 

A tall and impressive secretaire beauty, this lady needed a good deal of work to revive her. After being fully striped and primed, I painted her in Linen milkpaint and sealed with Flat out Top coat. I added mouldings to the top bureau case and also to the fold down bureau panel. These were gold gilded as were the drawer edges and also the glass panel divides. The interior was stained in a rich and dark Walnut stain. 

Hey there Friends! This piece was brought to us by one of our newly single Bachelors! He was looking for a fresh new start in life and home! He wanted something a bit masculine but also stylish! We gave him this! Hand painted in Lamp Black and Tuscan Red with the hardware a Matte Black!! He's been distressed and sealed with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in a Satin finish! This side table makes a great addition to a colorful child's bedroom!

The table had some chipping paint, so before painting I first refinished the top. I sanded the top to remove all the old paint. Then I stained it a warm brown and sealed it with three coats of satin polyurethane.

I painted this end table a pale aqua blue using a custom mix of general finishes milk paints. I used 4 parts Snow White and 1 part Persian Blue to get this beautiful blue that reminds me of the palest blue sky in the summer. The hardware was updated by spray painting it oil rubbed bronze.

Found an inexpensive grandfather style clock on craigslist. I figured gray would be an excellent color for this piece. It wasn't until later I thought that this otomi paper from Spoonflower would be a great fit. What do you know they had gray!  I used Queenstown gray and seagull gray milk paint for this piece. The seagull gray was mixed with a little white and used as a drippy wash all over. I also used some green patina milk paint to antique the brass hardware. Hope you like it!

This adorable small dresser was in need of a facelift and we gave it just that! We sanded the top down and stained it Java. We painted it in Persian blue milk paint and glazed it using Van Dyke Brown Glaze effects. It turned out better than we imagined! 

I had just finished painting my bedroom navy. I was blue obsessed. 'Coastal blue' was one of the few General Finishes colours that I hadn't yet tried...it was time. And I love it. Just love it.

This gorgeous set of drawers had recently fallen into my life & the side panels were crying out to have paper inserts. I knew straight away that the dark blue background of this tropical print would blend in perfectly with the paint and I was not disappointed.

General Finishes Rembrant Red Chalk Style makes a great background for this one-of-a-kind wall decor.

 I started with mix of Cashmere & Cathedral. The top of this dresser had suffered the affects of having a plug-in placed on top of it causing damage. That's where I knew my trusted GF products would come into play. 

I then began a custom glazed top using Pitch Black Glaze, Driftwood & Antique White Milk paint. High Performance Top Coat in Semi-Gloss gave a flawless coverage & excellent protection. 

Love the look of galvanized metal? Me too! Hate the old one color built in vanity sinks? Me too!  Love stepping outside of the box? Me too! So I did on my bathroom vanity! I wanted the look of a galvanized tub and an update to my vanity countertop. So I pulled out all the stops and chose an array of GF products for this project - Countertops: lamp black, linen, driftwood and Seagull milk paints, van dyke brown glaze, black glaze, HPTC in Satin. 

This absolutely stunning Hand Carved Dining Set has been refinished using my custom made Chalkpaint mix of Sherwin Williams Dromedary Camel. I then used a custom technique to blend Gold Rush and Iced Expresso waxes.All exposed wood has been stained in General Finishes Java Gel Stain. Extra memory foam has been added to make it as comfortable as it is beautiful! This set has been sealed in General Finishes High Performance Top Coat to ensure many years of lasting durability!

Painted using antique white, lamp black, and a custom mix of the two colours (as well as some Fusion Mineral Paint in gold). The arrows were painted using 3M Blue edgelocking tape. The wood accents were covered with General Finishes Gel Stain in Candlelight. The whole project has 3 top coats of High Performance Top Coat.

China cabinet refinished in coastal blue and antique walnut. Lovely wallpaper backing really takes this piece to the next level. Photo of the entire piece is not staged unfortunately. 

We made this buffet shine with Tuscan Red.  We finished the top with dark walnut and poly and  We then finished with dark and white wax over the the tuscan Red. We completed with the orginal hardware . 

This 3 unit Library hutch was a custom order finished for a client's office showcasing our "Dirty Marshmellow" finish.

This enormous unit was first cleaned with a mixture of water and denatured alcohol. Then primed with a single coat of Kilz primer . The next steps consisted of 2 even coats of GF's Antique White Milk Paint, heavy sanding with 60 grit sand paper in random areas, then another good cleaning finished by glazing with GF's Pitch Black Glaze Effects.

 This piece was in a fire. No fire damage, but it was in a home that caught fire. It has been completely cleaned inside and out, sealed, restored and will be reloved. It was painted in General Finishes Milk Paint in Linen and sealed with General Finishes Flat out Flat Topcoat and glaze using General Finishes Van Dyke Brown Glaze.  

We painted this dresser using patina green milk paint. We distressed the edges and top coated it using Enduro Satin clear poly. We love patina green it adds the perfect pop of color to anything! 

Found this perfect size cabinet at an antique store and fell in love! Did i say.....perfect size! I experimented with so many blues and whites and came up with this gorgeous combo. Keith Urbans, Blue Ain't Your Color was playing in the background and I kept saying......Sorry Keith but blue is her color! 

Stylish and practical, this vanity isn't just producing makeovers but also receiving one! The top flips up to reveal a mirror and staging area for makeup and accessories while drawers help organize other items. Long legs support a two tone finished body done in a Linen Milk Paint with the top and drawer appliqué in Millstone Milk Paint.

This massive coffee table started out so sad!  Someone had spray painted it black and red, and then sprayed glitter finish all over it.  It was truly a sad mess.  After stripping off the craziness, I thought that this beauty needed some two tone lovliness!  I started out with General Finishes Driftwood Milk Paint and painted the top, as well as the drawers.  The body is done in antique white.  I then sealed the entire thing with General Finishes HPTC.

This is a handpainted Garden themed table. Inspiration was taken from a china set of dishes, that when placed in the middle of the opened table would create a complete garden theme. A full garden mix of acrylic flowers highlighted with metallic silver and pearls, dragonflies and ladybugs, nestled upon General Finish Snow White with sprays of 24K gold. Finished with a gloss of Arm-R-Seal for a long lasting shine. 

Have you ever tried to re create a look on a different piece of furniture?  Well, that is what happened with this piece.  The original was sold a day before the other customer came in to purchase it.  They said without a doubt that they wanted me to re create that very same look on something else.

This little secretary received a major makeover! After some structural repair she was screaming for color!! Painted in a blend of Heirloom Traditions feathered nest and Verdigris she also had bottom doors done in a raised stencil as well as the desk front. The stencil was done in Dixie Bell iron patina for a rusted effect. General Finishes Van Dyke brown glaze was applied and gave exterior an aged look.The interior was painted in mustard as well as the interior stencil on the desk. The drawer sides were stenciled in feathered nest andi interior  lined.

We found this girl at a garage sale...she was sitting pretty in the drive way waiting on us! We were so excited to get her home and begin our creation!

French Country style vintage Drexel Triune 9- drawer dresser. This dresser has been painted with layers of texture with a custom blue-gray color giving the dresser an authentic aged finish. An Oak planked top was added and stained with a custom mix to achieve a gray, blue and brown weathered look. The Drexel dresser was sealed with 4 coats of flat topcoat for extra durability.

This dresser was painted with 3 coats of General Finishes Persian Blue and 2 coats of General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in Flat. 

This gorgeous 12 drawer, French Provincial Dresser found it's new home before it even hit the shop!  I have such a wonderful clients that love Color!  This piece was painted with my new fancy sprayer in General Finishes Milk Paint.  I then airbrushed Van Dyke Brown Glaze Effects to give it some depth because I didn't want it to look like one all over color.  After that, I went back over the glaze with the Patina to soften the look and not be to hard on the eyes.  I simply called it layering technique.

My client brought me this antique desk that had definitely seen better days.  She wanted to go bold with the color.  General Finishes Persimmon was the perfect match to do so.  The top was sanded down to bare wood and stained with a custom mix of General Finishes Java and Nutmeg gel stains.  The desk was tastefully accented with General Finishes Van Dyke Brown Glaze Effects, which served to ground the bold color a bit and simutaneously tie in the stained top.  The original hardware was updated to an oil rubbed bronze finish. 

This statement piece was hand painted with General Finishes Chalk style Paint in Chalk White then softly wiped with General finishes Glaze Effects in Burnt Umber. The hammered copper insert leads to the character of the finish.

An old H&R 12ga shotgun found in a quonset of a old Minnesotan junker.  Surprised there were no other big scary items in that derelict shed.  

Cleaned up, cut down, customized as a wall hanger -- this old street sweeper kicked hard.

Bluing and oil gave the metal warmth.  But nothing compared to the hand-rubbed finish of Arm-R-Seal on aged walnut.  

This stately china cabinet needed some TLC but the extra work was worth it! While refinished in a calm navy blue with antique white shelves, it is the Brown Mahogany stained pine paneling sets this piece apart. The warmth of the wood against the cool navy ensures a balance between beauty and brawn, while a top coat of Flat Out Flat promises the finish will last for years of family dinners to come.

As soon as I saw this table I knew it had to be a country table. I sanded down the top and really wanted to keep the raw wood look, so I just clea coated it with high performance top coat. And painted the legs a nice teal to give it a pop of color. 

Who doesn't love a good nautical theme? This wonderful French Provincial chest of drawers needed an overhaul for a grandson's nautical themed bedroom, so we started by removing the "girlie" features of this style. General Finishes Holiday Red milk paint was the perfect color for a statement piece in this room.  The holes from the original pulls were filled to accommodate the custom hand-painted knobs the customer wanted. Finished off with General Finishes high performance top coat in satin, it's ready to set sail!

This coffee table is made of Modesto Ash, that was destined to become firewood. I grew up with this Ash tree, it watched me and my brothers grow up. Unfortunately the tree was diseased and had to be taken down. I talked to the arborist and made a deal with them to leave me the trunk as a whole piece. They dropped it, my dad and I spent the next few days clearing up all of the brush and cut the limbs into manageable pieces of firewood. The next day I spent a few hours using an alaskan chainsaw mill slabbing up the tree into 10/4 sections.

Hey there Friends! We came across this beauty while out "Hunting for GoodWill" and indeed we found some! This little glass top table was on her way to the scrap yard and we'd have NONE of that! We scoope this little cutie up...brought her home, gave her a bath and hand painted her in General Finishes ButterMilk Yellow! We added a little darker wax to her and distressed her a bit! Say hello to Oz!  -- This piece is so fun and totally on trend. It's an antique Eastlake three drawer chest that's been flipped into one of the hottest looks of today. The solid wood body was painted with Emerald Milk Paint and then Glaze Effects in Pitch Black was added to give Oz that funky grunge edge. The original pulls were swapped out for cool new gold hinged pulls. The top is gorgeous sleek white marble, which adds so much versatility to the piece. The three dovetailed drawers have been lined with a black and white striped specialty paper to tie the whole look together. 

The base coat is General Finishes Basil Green then glazed with General Finishes Winter White Glaze Effects, distressed and sealed with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in Flat. 

The worn factory finish was sanded off of this fiberglass door and the door was cleaned & prepped for the stain.  One coat of General Finishes Water Base Wood Stain in Brown Mahogany was brushed onto the door.  We then mixed 10% of the Brown Mahogany stain to 90% of the General Finishes Exteior 450 and applied 2 coats of this mixture.  We finished with one coat of General Finishes Exterior 450 clear, 

This dresser had good bones but needed some love. We sanded out imperfections and got to work. We rolled the first two coats with a foam roller, sanding in between coats. Next, we used our Kling On brush to brush on the last two coats. Then we used our "linen" technique for the High Performance Topcoat in gloss. Brushing right to left for the first coat, then up and down for the next. Alternating this process until we achived a flawless finish. We used Rub'nBuff for the hardware and gold detail.

This sweet antique Serpentine piece had stunning grain in the wood so we kept just enough of the grain showing and contrasted Basil Green Milk Paint and finished with High Performance Top Coat.

A vintage armoire was transformed into a cowgirl's dream. Painted in GF Patina Green, glazed with GF Van Dyke Brown and sealed with GF HP Topcoat. 

The doors and drawers were covered in authentic black and white cowhide. 

Taking a frenchie from dirty white to a European hand painted finish with layers of patina, coastal blue pops and snow white distressed as though it's an abstract canvas. 

Everyone loves a classic white and dark stained top! I sanded down the tops and stained them, primed the bottom and painted. 

I had so much fun giving a new life to this antique highboy! I pulled out all my painting supplies, and went to town... I had to do a lot of patching, and sanding first. Then gave it a base of heirloom tradition Alexanderite, then layered on General Finishes Patina, Coastal Blue, and Annie Sloan Antribes with a spray bottle, sponges, and yes I finger painted! 

I sanded back in areas, and sprayed in areas with patina again to finish. After this piece was finished of with an antiquing stain, then sealed with General Finishes Flat out Flat. 

This cute little table was finished with a layering technique that I learned from a video posted in an amzing FB group. The technique is called Blue Sky. This piece was done by layering blue, white and carmel and highlighted with light touches of GF seagull gray milk paint. Finished off with Lemon Verbena salve.

My client contacted us wanting to refinish her vintage Pottery Barn furniture. The set fit her space nicely but the original finish was not only well loved but it wasn't going to work with their new living room renovations. They were moving away from the dark craftsmen look and wanted their furniture to reflect their new farmhouse vibe. With some inspiration help from the current Pottery Barn catalog we revised these great pieces with an on-trend modern farmhouse makeover! This stunning coffee table was completely stripped and sanded.

I have had this piece in my inventory for over 2 years, and was completly uninspired by it.  Until a client asked if i had any desk available.  She wanted to purchase one for her daughter who had just graduated from Law school.  Her words were "something curvy and feminine".  I suddenly became inspired.  My client wanted a deep navy, deeper than coastal blue.  I mixed 3 parts coastal blue to 1 part lamp black to achieve this classy color.  The end result was this piece of beauty.  I used rub n'buff to achieve the coppery gold hardware color. 

I was able to take an antique Chest of drawers that needed some love and revived it. Inremoved the drawer hardwareI cleaned the entire piece with odorless mineral spirits and sanded with a 150 grit sanding pad to get off old residue and grime.  I then sanded down the top and stained it with Java Gel Stain. I allowed that to dry for 48 hours and taped off and painted the bottom and drawers with GF Antique White Milk Paint. It took three coats to get a good coverage.

We took a solid Armoire and customized everything! The solid wood doors were cut down to only the trim pieces and chicken wire was added to showcase the beautiful interior. The interior consists of a drop down secretary and three drawers. The entire outside of the Armoire was painted General Finishes Antique White and the interior a gorgeous teal blue.  

This beautiful sideboard had great curves and lines. Simply gorgeous. The solid wood top was looking a bit poorly but after a good scrub and sand down, it was ready for it's makeover. 

This was the first time I'd used Java Gel Stain and it was brilliant...like wiping marmite on and off! I used two coats to get an even coverage and once the High Performance Top Coat had been applied, it was rich and dark and just yummy.

This sad little desk was in need of some repairs and a splash of color.  And this one was calling for Coral Crush milk paint toned down a bit with Snow White.  We found a darling antique chair that paired up nicely with the desk.  The finishing touch was the paisley fabric that brought it all together.  Everything got a beautiful protective coat of satin lacquer.  This one makes a statement in any room.

A beautiful french provincial desk and nightstand set.  Typical for the style, it has classic features such as curved legs and scalloped apron, but its new color brings an updated look.  Refinished in contrasting colors of General Finishes Seagull Gray for the body and Snow White for the drawers.

Painted this side table in keywest blue chalk paint.

This beautiful watercolor inspired piece had a base layer of General Finishes Snow White, then heavy layer of General Finishes Coastal Blue. I began sanding back in areas lightly. Then watered down Coastal Blue, and Charleton Blue. I sprayed, and sponged on in areas. I sanded back lightly again in areas, and gave a final spray of both colors again to finish off. I sealed with an oil wax.  Then to give its final touches added a Modern cement knob for a more masculine look. 

This is an older secretary desk that I felt needed an update so I painted it with Coastal Blue Milk paint. It now has a more modern, fresh look.

Took this small plain dresser to a bright and happy color.  We used General Finishes Lime Green, we then Stenciled with General finishes Snow White to the drawers to give it some added interested and added some new blingy pulls.  

In my shop, a good finish starts with preparation and usually ends when I'm rubbing out the final coat of General Finish Arm-R-Seal.

Sit pretty at this vintage vanity! Painted in Persian Blue with a Java Gel stained top. New crystal knobs with gold accents add to the beauty. Six dovetailed drawers await your belongings.  The matching vintage Harp chair is upholstered in a coordinating Waverly fabric to complete the look. French freak refinished in java gel stain,  linen milk paint with van dyke glaze

This Rocker stole my heart when I saw her. She belongs to a dear friend and it was her grandmothers. The piece was in very bad shape and required extensive repairs before I could start painting. Once repaired, I sanded ALOT, and primed. Base coat of GF Antique White then glazed with Van Dyke Brown Glaze, drybrushed with DB Fluff and Manatese. Topcoated with GF Flat out Flat. Seat was recovered with a burlap and rolled with a decorative Roller and Antique White. 

My lamp project. It is a standard wooden lamp base styled using various colours of chalk paints and GF pearl effect (tawny pearl).

It has been sealed with dark wax.

This little rocker was brought to me in bad shape, by an expecting mom wanting it redone for her soon to arrive, little cowboy. The rocker belonged to the expecting dad, who is now a professional Team Roper, when he was a baby. All I was told were the colors in the nursery, and that they wanted his initials on the horses hip. I was so excited and couldn't wait to begin. 

Updated an old steamer truck with a distressed coat of Queens Town Grey, and Snow White in all the details crevices. Then dry brushed Snow White in various areas. 

This adorable French Provincial Server/ Buffet used to have a hutch. Concidering the hutch was completely ruined; I disassembled the hutch and attached the ornate top piece to the server. It was then hand painted in my custom made chalkpaint recipe using Sherwin Williams Arrid Sands. Rustoleum Champagne was used to accent and restore the original hardware. All exposed wod has been stained in General Finishes Nutmeg Gel Stain. General Finishes High Performance Top Coat has been applied to ensure many years of durability and a lasting finish!

This solid maple piece desperately needed a new life! The Rusty Scale came to the rescue by completely sanding out all the knicks and chipped finish. The shutter doors & existing mismatched hardware were removed in hopes to create a more modern look. The warm color of Driftwood was complimented by the light walnut stain used for the top. Cup pulls and baskets were added to bring this look together!

Layers of Basil with black and white dry brush;  using a criss cross effect. . I was going for a Burberry look! I decided that was not enough for me, so I decided to throw some gold in there and was in love!!! 

General Finishes waterbase stain blocker primer was applied to prevent bleed thru. Then finished in Kids Glove White and lightly distressed, by Valspar. Top stripped then stained in Teak Moorish stain by Zar. All sealed with a matte topcoat for added protection by Rustoleum.

This vintage oak dresser needed a makeover!  Painted in Tuscan Red Milk Paint.  Top and mirror frame hand sanded and stained with Candlelite Gel Stain.  

Beautiful vintage dresser, sprayed for a flawless finish with a custom color of General Finishes (2 parts Coastal Blue: 1 part Seagull Gray: 1/2 part Emerald Green), then glazed in Pitch Black glaze and finished with a semi gloss for a gorgeous sheen. Top is stained with General Finishes gel Stain in black and coated with Arm R Seal. New silver metallic glass knobs makes it stunning. This is solid wood and heavy, but is on rollers to easily maneuver.

WINE BOX DRESSED IN TILES I have used our own Chalk Style Vittorino Paint and GF Argentine Pearl Effects for the Bling! I have designed and make my own stencil in form of the Tile. On top of the box I have used layering technique and distressing to create visual 3D effect. Stensil on the Side of the box were painted with GF Argentine Pearl Effects Box was sealed with our own  Vittorino clear

This solid Maine Rock Maple Desk was just tired looking and needed a fresh new look.  It was so solid and sturdy that it required no repairs which is almost unheard of in a 60 year old piece of furniture.  There were only a few scratches in the original finish so all it needed was some light prep work followed by several coats of Midnight Blue chalk style paint.  We made sure to distress it in all the right places to let the maple peek through.  It added some much needed character to the desk.  Several coats of satin lacquer made this ready for even the roughest of little boys.

A little girl got her first big girl bedroom set with this refinished French Provincial set.  Painted in Snow White Milk Paint with Seagull Gray accent drawers for contrast.

This cedar lane chest was in overall great shape, just a few touch ups I needed to fix with a little bit of wood putty. I wanted to give this piece a different look, something a little different using two different colors. I went with Chapin Gray first, decided it was a little too plain so I added antique white with a dry brushing teqnique which really made this piece come alive. I laso wanted to add glaze to accentuate the details of the design around the middle of the chest and the legs and boy did those details come out!

This amazing little settee was in sad shape! I tightened the frame up, took apart the old webbing, and springs. Then put new webbing on for better support as the old stuff was rotting away. I then refinished the frame in Snow White. 

This beauty has a amazing custom made French cushion in the most amazing floral pattern! What's not to love about this piece?!

As soon as I found this piece, I knew exactly how I wanted to paint it. I used Seagull Gray Milk Paint and High Performance Top Coat to seal it.

My client's father built this chest for her when she was a little girl. She hopes to pass it on to her daughter but until then wanted to use it in her master bedroom. The chest was painted in Snow White Milk Paint and the hand-painted branches and the beautiful quote were painted in Lamp Black. High Performance Satin was used to seal the piece. I was honored to work on this family heirloom.

This beautiful accent dresser was painted in 2 coats of creamy basil milk paint. I used a criss cross technique to dry brush white linen atop of the drawers and then followed it with the same technique using a black dry brush. I was going for a Burberry look!! Of course it was still a little too simple for me; so I decided to add some gold rubbamd buff to accentuate the look. Finished off with Some HPTC and I was in love!

This sassy red & honeycomb console was once warped and stained. I cut off sections to give it a slimmer look then went over the dingy white with a strong red paint. I distressed the edges to allow the original white to show through then sealed with High Performance Top Coat in Flat. I added some fun matte gift wrap and persimmon shaped hardware to complete the look. 

Lovely china cabinet painted in Midnight Blue Chalk Style Paint. New drawer pulls really popped against the blue.  Inside was left in original finish.  

This little chest needed a total redo.  Complete paint job done with Buttermilk Yellow Milk Paint.  Original hardware given a quick spray paint and the finished product is ready for a little beach cottage.

my mum has been wanting an old milk can like she used to have growing up on my grams farm back in the 40's and 50's in massachusettes for years... so for mothers day this year i was deterimed to find her one and i did!

This retro maple Gossip Bench is all the talk now that she's been given a new look in classic Coastal Blue! We sprayed her frame with several coats of Coastal Blue Milk Paint for a smooth professional finish topped with 2 coats of High Performance Top Coat in Flat for a bit of extra protection. This classic paint color paired with new navy and beige upholstery is a combo that continues to be the talk of the town! 

When a new client called asking for help with a dresser, I knew a few things: 1 - the veneer top was peeling and 2 - GF's Millstone Milk Paint and Java Gel Stain was going to be used, one on the top and the others on the base & drawers. What was to come would even surprise me.

This gorgeous Eastlake style dresser quickly became one of my all-time favorite projects with a custom blend of General Finishes Milk and Chalk Style Paints with 2 parts Queenstown Gray Milk Paint, 4 parts Seagull Gray Milk Paint, and 3 parts Charleton Blue Chalk Style Paint. The resulting paint was smooth, creamy, and effortlessly beautiful! My favorite part of custom blends is that they tend to be chameleons - they can appear to take on different hues based on their lighting and other colors in their setting.

Up cycled cabinet using Java gel and high performance top coat to seal the top. Doors are painted with black base and pearl effects  copper using a plaster brush for a hammered copper effect and sealed with high performance  top coat.

Living in coastal Connecticut, I am inspired by all things nautical.  What was once a honey-colored vintage dresser is now a masterpiece perfect for the Captain's Quarters using products by General Finishes.  

The top of the dresser and front of the drawers have been stained a rich medium-dark color using GF Gel Stain in Mahogany. The perfect sealant to protect that beautiful stain is GC High Performance Topcoat in Satin.

This was a solid cherry bedroom suite so i I definitely needed to use General Finishes waterbase stain blocker primer to prevent bleed thru. Then finished in Adirondack white and lightly distressed, by Folkart. All tops were stripped and stained in Teak Moorish stain by Zar. All sealed with a matte topcoat for added protection by Rustoleum.

I transformed this beautiful oversized coffe table with Antique white, top off with glaze and high performance poly. This big guy had such great details that weren't being shown with the old fashion finish it had. I knew I could save this guy and bring out thoughs gorgeous details. I prepped well and the painted with the colors above. It was also lightly distressed to add a little more character and vwuala!!!

Solid White Ash 12 drawer dresser that was given a new look. Sage green Chalk paint paired with sillver accents and a pearl effect for sparkle.

This set of chairs where refreshed using General Finishes Driftwood Milk Paint, and three coats of General Finishes High Performance Topcoat in Satin. 

This soft and sweet,  vintage dresser was base coated in GF Persian Blue. I then blended in GF Baby Blue,  AS Provence and Rustoleum Serenity Blue. I did a very light wash of GF Antique White.

The drawer pulls were painted in GF Antique and coated with GF HP Topcoat, tinted with a splash of Driftwood to create an aged effect  

The inside of the drawers were painted with Valspar satin White. The entire piece was sealed with GF HP Topcoat. 

This large buffet had a secret. A wonderful hidden drawer, which added to the fun of restoring this piece. After being fully stripped and primed, I painted her in General Finishes Linen and Walut woodstain for the top and Balcony back. I then gilded the raised carvings in gold to highlight them, this is the front to the secret drawer. The whole piece was then sealed with General Finishes Flat out Top Coat. 

Solid oak dining table has been painted and distressed. Table top and chair seats were stained using General Finishes Java gel and sealed with high performance top coat. 

The mirror and vanity were painted in Dove Gray chalk paint, then painted with General Finishes Top Coat in Satin. I applied  Dark Waxed to bring out all the details, and topped off with some pretty glass knobs and metallic highlights. The mirror and the vanity go so well together even though I found them at two different shops. Perfect Match. 

I finished this beautiful cedar chest for one of my clients and I absolutely love how it turned out! She wanted it to match another piece that she bought from me so I used a pretty red paint with black glaze. I added trim to the top so she could put a pillow on top to use it as a bench, too, and ended with 2 coats of General Finishes High Performance top coat. Beautiful transformation!

Nautical but nice blanket box I refinished for my own house. 

i was so excited to find this beautiful drum table to turn into something gorgeous.  I have been wanting to try General Finishes Milk Paint in Coastal Blue for awhile and decided this was the piece.  I painted the piece with the rich color of Coastal Blue and kept the technique clean.  I cleaned up the hardware till the gold color shined brightly.  Nothing prettier than navy and gold together.  I added high Performance Topcoat for a beautiful shine and lastly lined the drawer with a fabric liner.  This is definitely one of my favorite pieces I have done.  

When I purchased this old school desk, it was already painted in red.  It was sanded until just the right amount of red and wood was showing.  The top was then painted with stars and strips and sealed with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat.  Dark antiquing wax was applied and wiped of the top to age the piece. It was then staged with some painted Americana baseballs and bats.   

This dresser had drawers that were in great shape - no chips or scratches which made it a great candidate for this finish.  Drawer fronts and dresser top stripped, lightly sanded and hand rubbed with GF American Walnut Oil Based stain.  New drawer pulls completed the new look.

This farm table had a one of a kind top made from the Black Gum tree.  To save the beautiful look of the unique grain pattern we used General Finishes Pre Stain Natural. The base of the table, bench, and the chair frames were primed and then painted with General Finishes Persian Blue milk paint. Once the base and chairs were painted we did a medium rub to give a light distressed look. The table base, bench, and the chair frames were then coated with General Finishes Van Dyke Brown glaze.

This gorgeous French Provincial dresser was chosen out of our unfinished inventory and customized!  She had a hard time choosing a color for her space.  After much deliberation and color mixing we came across this perfect shade of teal!  We used a combination of Coastal Blue, Emerald, Klein Blue, and Patina Green milk paints along with a splash of Summertime Blue Chalk Style paint to complete it!  We then sealed it with HP Satin and glazed the whole piece with Pitch Black Glaze Effects.  The top received a final coat of Enduro Black Poly in satin.  What an amazing statement piece!

This Antique Ornate Buffet was painted first with turquoise, then painted over with an antique white.  Once distressed, bits of turquoise would show through, matching the adorable flower knobs. 

When my client acquired this beautiful piano for free, she knew she wanted to do something to transform it for her living space.  While her initial inclination was to paint it white, I urged her to think about using one of the beautiful General Finishes Milk Paint colors. I had been dying to try the GF Milk Paint in Emerald, and was thrilled when she agreed to let me use it on this piece.  As usual, your amazing paint transformed something ordinary into something beyond extraordinary.

This modern bedroom furniture is only 10 years old, but came to me looking rather unloved and in a dark cherry finish.

So that the items would compliment each other without being identical and overpowering in the same room, the tallboy was given a crisp, grain sack design. This was achieved using Driftwood Milk Paint slightly lightened with the primary pale cream colour. Set against the light finish on the body, the stripes are eye-catching and the design can be teamed with accessories to either match a modern room or one of rustic charm. 

Electric Kelly green paired with brown glaze to make this vintage showpiece. 

This dresser was already in excellent quality condition it just needed some serious color to it. So I used General Finishes Milk Paint in Coastal Blue. The top was stained in Walnut. 

Bring this classic look into your home! She has been elegantly painted in General Finishes Queenstown Grey. Her top is refinished in General Finishes Nutmeg Stain. Nutmeg is a beautiful stain that brings warmth to any room. Her hardware is eye catching in antique Gold!

My friend Laura said, "Do you want to paint it for a quick sell it have fun with it?" I chose FUN! It sold too, not quickly but quick enough. 

When I found it, it had been painted white with lavender flowers. Several coats of General Finishes Holiday Red Milk Paint covered the white. I sealed the entire piece with General Finishes High Performance Satin Top Coat and then applied the glaze. Finally I applied two coats of Top Coat and lightly rubbed gold holding wax on the accents and hardware. 

This was my first piece I painted a few years ago.  It was an old dresser that belonged to my husband as a kid that sat in the basement of our previous house for years and had been through at least 12 flooded basements.  When we moved to our new home there was a large open space in the foyer that was perfect for this dresser.  I gave her a good scrubbing and sanding.  Applied a few coats of Valspar paint in a cream color and valspar chalkboard paint to the mirror.  The piece was then sealed with General Finishes Top Coat.

This chest of drawers turned out beautifully.  Top was hand sanded and stained with GF Nutmeg Gel Stain.  The chest was painted with Midnight Blue Chalk Style Paint.  Original drawer pulls were shined up and really pop against the blue making this a stunning piece.

I titled this piece "Mint Julip" and it kept autocorrecting to Julio, so we just went with it. Julio was painted in Mint Green Chalk paint,then sanded back so the wood grain would come through. White highlights were added and a spray of Pearl Effects for added luster. Silvered Metal embellishments and of course... a GF top coat!

Wow, what a transformation this turned out to be!  This piece was brought to us by a client with many thick layers of dark brown latex paint on it.  It wasn't a very high quality piece as it had a thin veneer on the whole thing.  After days of stripping and carefully sanding we had it ready for paint and staint.  I must say I had my doubts on how it would turn out!  The top was refinished in Java gel stain while the rest of it recievd 3 coats of Bayberry Green Chalk style paint with glazing in Antique white, Basil, New Leaf by Vintage Market and Design.  The whole thing was finished off whi
