I am Fallon Yates, the owner and artist behind Market | House Restorations, LLC.
For over 10 years, I have found a passion in reclaiming and restyling furniture and décor. Whether it has been restoring pieces for my own family, or transforming pieces for others, I have fallen in love with the beauty, affordability, and fulfillment that flipping pieces of furniture and cabinetry brings to my life.
In 2011, I was called to stay home with our first born child. The decision to leave my full-time job forced me to become resourceful in-order to maintain a functional yet beautiful home for my family. After a while, I found myself making, building, painting and creating everything that I could get my hands on. As time went on, I started to extend my services to other family members and friends. My clientele has since grown larger-and-larger allowing me to do this type of work full-time from my own home studio; which brings us to Market | House Restorations. I opened my business on August 30, 2017, so it hasn't been a full year, but it's been nothing short of wonderful and I feel so blessed to be able to do something I love and enjoy.
Thank you for this opportunity!!

To begin, I had to re-position the knobs on the cabinet doors, because they were currently placed in middle/center of each door. I filled them in then I sealed the doors with General Finishes Stain Blocker. This helped me achieve an extra smooth base before I applied the paint. I then painted the cabinets 3x with General Finishes snow white and sealed them with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in Flat. I can't get my "before" pictures to upload correctly, but the transformation was huge! :)

The base of this bathroom cabinet was a rare size and because of that the price to replace just the base would have cost over $1,000. Farmhouse Stepback Cupboard
By Fallon_Market House Restorations, Owner at Market House Restorations, LLC in Salem, VA.
Winning Category
I found this "potentially" amazing piece in a trash pile on the side of the road! It was literally cut in HALF, it didn't have a backside, the front doors were covered with old rotten pegboards and every shelf on the inside was covered in mold, dirt, grime and everything else you can imagine. When I realized it was a stepback cupboard, I was in love and willing to poor as much of myself into it as I could so that it would look original and beautiful again.
