This Drexel 1957 dresser was found along with a matching full bed for $100 at a garage sale.  I hauled it home and gave it a good bath from years of sticky kid fingers and sanded it down.  I didn't prime this one and later learned the hard way of how old wood can "bleed" after you seal it.  I painted the body  in GF Seagull Gray, used a gray, whitewash, and a brown stain on the drawers and sealed it with GF High Performace in satin. Upon sealing, the old stain/wood tanins started to "bleed" through the clear coat!!!

It was time for a new dresser for my daughter, (hers had been an Antique dresser for the past 15 years that i painted for her ) 

I picked up this dresser for her at an estate sale , It didnt need much work ,just updating , So I painted it using a mix of Queenston ,

Driftwood and little Lamp Black, with the Pitch Black Glaze for a silky smokey effect. topped it off with G.F.high performance in Gloss

and G.F. high perfomance in flat. Updated the original hardware by painting them silver.

Looks awesome in her room.

If you love the clean lines of a Mid Century Modern piece, take a look at this solid wood Basset dresser! I stuck with classic Minwax dark walnut stain for the dresser drawers sealed with satin Arm R Seal. Classic General Finishes Fjord blue chalk style paint with updated gold pulls allow for modernizing while keeping true to the mid century style. 

This piece had great bones but has turned yellow over the years. Applied a few coats of Patina green milk paint to make it beautiful again! All girls need this color in their room! 

Mid-Century Modern ultra coolness created with General Finishes Seagull Gray on the box and  GF Driftwood Milk Paint to highlight doors. Entire piece was sealed with High Performance Top Coat Satin Sheen.

This is my first time painting with milk paint and really wanted a wow factor. I chose GF Klein Blue because the Hyacinth Macaw is one of my favorite birds and fast forward am in cloud nine after the results. I usually try my best to restore a piece but felt this was a bit challenging with the different stains it had not to mention how bad the brass was. It took me appoximately 4 hrs just to polish the brass handles. I really enjoyed this paint so much that I am looking forward to using GF Graphite on my next project!

Passed down from my mother this dresser set has been lovingly refinished.  Java Gel gave the wood a darker hue, while Bone White and Charleton chalk paint add pops of color.  

Can you believe these awesome tables were on the side of the road when we found them. What makes it even better is someone had already stripped them so they were ready to go. We wanted a pop of color to make the gold feet stand out and Charleton Blue was the perfect choice. We don't run across many mid century modern pieces and these make me wish we did!

This former dresser has been retrofitted to function as a media console. It features a custom weathered grey finish, 6 storage drawers with dovetail joints, cool original wooden drawer pulls and 3 hand-crafted wooden shelves that bring a touch of rustic to this sleek piece.

Starting out in pretty poor shape, found in a sad little auction room, this awesome set of drawers has truly been wrestled back to fabulousness!

Ready for a lot of preparation, I donned my dungarees, got the music blaring & set to work...

I thought the drawers for this dresser were a perfect candidate for something bold, like a colorblock. Unfortunately the dresser needed a lot of work before I could carry on with my vision. I rebuilt the top and sealed the body with General Finishes Stainblocker before painting it with Antique White Milk Paint. I used Lamp Black Milk Paint on the bottom drawers and refinished he rest of the drawers with Antique Walnut Gel Stain. I loved how it turned out and I can't wait to recreate this look again!

Have you ever caughten a glimpse of a piece of furniture - a buffet, a cabinet, a dresser - and instantly knew it was a special piece?  That's how this dresser hit me.  Just a glimpse at the lines through the dim picture on Facebook told me it was a Harmony House dresser, made of walnut.  I knew at that point - it HAD to be mine.  It was on a bidding group on Facebook and I fought HARD for it...and won.

Sleek MCM end table set, finished in a mix of Driftwood and Bone White Chalk Style paints. The Java stained tops add a warm contrast to the cool gray body. The finishing touch is an light glaze of Van Dyke Brown Glaze Effects.

This lovely pair of oversized nightstands was refinished using Snow White milk paint and Antique Walnut gel stain. 

Patina green milk paint with pitch black glaze. I added dainty glass pulls to add to the character. 

The refresh of this piece married sleek and rustic. This Stanley desk features a planked wood top finished in a variety of rich stains, a black painted frame and dovetail drawers that were finished both inside and out. Although it was originally designed as a desk, its long and lean lines allow it to function in other ways too. Imagine it in an entryway as a console, in a dining room as a dry bar or buffet or even in a family room as a media console.

My first tin of 'seagull grey' had arrived. Actually my first ever purchase from the General Finishes range. And this is what I made with it...one of my all time favourite projects.

Too cool MCM 3-tier table painted with our favorite go to color-General Finishes Patina Green Milk Paint. Legs were freshed up with furniture oil. Painted surfaces were sealed with High Performance Top Coat Satin Sheen. 

This mid-century dresser was given a pop culture re-make with a classic Union Jack flag.  The dresser was painted with Amy Howard One-Step paint and sealed with General Finishes' High Performance Top Coat for lasting durability. 

Like all good upcycles, I chose this piece because of its good bones. I tend to buy more girly pieces but I fell for it's masculine curves and brought this bad boy home. 

Mid Century Modern 1960's Kent Coffey Finesse lowboy.  The many imperfections that came with this dresser turned out to be the inspiration in the design process.  The Finesse now has a stunning white and walnut two-tone finish.  New modern brass pulls were added.

Vintage Waterfall Dresser, complete makeover using Halycon Blue and Van Dyke Brown glaze, and Java Gel Stain on the drawer front, gave new life to this dresser.  

This Mid-Century 9 drawer dresser by Burlington Furniture had beautiful lines and original hardware.  However, the original wood finish was bland and outdated.  General FInishes Milk Paint in Coastal Blue was applied using an HVLP sprayer to acheive a smooth, even finish.  General Finishes High Performanance Top Coat in Flat was also sprayed on to protect the finish. The original hardware was reattached further enhancing this statement piece. 

This is a simple one. Simple because 'klein blue' just speaks for itself. It's incredible.

Take one gorgeous G Plan wooden set of drawers in fantastic condition but boring and brown. Sand it down and clean it well. Remove the hardware. Prime it a couple of times and then unleash the blue.

Even just opening the tin makes me smile. I smothered this unit with layers of blue until the coverage was nice and even, deep & rich. After drying thoroughly I sealed it with High Performance Top Coat in satin finish. Cleaned the hardware with barkeepers friend and brasso. 

This beautiful mid-century modern dresser was already beautiful, but after painting with Antique White milkpaint and applying Van Dyke Brown glaze, HP Topcoat and handles refreshed with gold rubnbuff, she's now a showstopper! 

I found this John Stuart made in North Carolina dresser at a thrift store and scored it for $30, mainly because one of the legs ripped off while they were loading it in my truck.  It was painted black and sporting more than it's fair share of scrapes, dings, scratches, stains and even had a pair of someone's old underwear stuck inside the frame. Despite having one too few legs and one too many pairs of strangers underpants, something about this dresser really spoke to me.

I walked by this mid century piece at my local thrift store 3 times before I stopped to actually open and close its drawers. I spouse walked by and said, "it will fit". Huh? 

Oh! It will fit in the vehicle we were driving.....hahaha! Anytime he's onboard with buying furniture I jump in it. 

The dresser is solid Maple and made in Wisconsin. Several of the top knobs were missing but the bottom are all original. 

Absolutely stunning in Snow White. 

Be still my heart! This MCM was given a sleek update with GF Linen, Burnished Pearl Effects, and HP Satin.

These sidetables were in rough condition when they came my way. Luckily I was able to strip them to find beautiful wood underneath. The drawer pulls were brass, and cleaned up beautifully. I've said it before and I'll say it again - Brasso is my spirit animal. I stained the wood, and then painted the drawers using Antique White and then a custom mix of Antique White and Lamp black (about 1:1). They were both given 4 top coats with High Performance Top Coat. Some people say it looks like a backgammon board - and I gotta say....that wasn't my inspiration but I guess it's true!

With some pieces you just know they're going to need so much love, attention and prep work to become what you envisage, but you know it will be worth it and this one was definitely one of those.  I could see it had so much potential and that in it's day it was a beautiful piece but over the years of it not being stored and looked after properly the veneer had started to come lose and peel off and in places completely chipped off and damaged..

This credenza, with its interesting lines, compelling wood grain, and solid construction required only a slight re-visioning of the original to become a client's favorite piece. I stripped the entire credenza, sanded each component carefully, essentially creating a blank slate. Together, the client and I decided on muted color scheme - one that spoke to both her color preferences as well as the local landscape, namely Lake Superior. Hence, we retained most wood grain, sanding and oiling the body and center drawers, using a series of fine grits and many coats of Danish oil in between.

This sweet beauty was found by a dumpster in my husband's work parking lot. She is painted with a combination of white chalky paint and java gel, finished with a triple coat of high gloss topcoat

This MCM chest needed a little love before I could refinish it. The original finish was a limed oak finish, which did not offer the chest any justice. I stripped the drawers and refinished them using General Finishes Candlelite Gel Stain and prepped the rest with General Finishes Stainblocker before applying General Finishes Antique White Milk Paint on the body. I finished the look with my favorite sealer, General Finishes Flat Out Flat Topcoat. Now this chest has a new life in a new home. ❤️

Unique Mid Century Desk with drop down sides has been given a fresh new look by painting with General Finishes Snow White & Driftwood Milk Paint. Now the original Hardware really pops. The chair was purchased separately and was painted Driftwood and reupholstered to coordinate with the desk. 

I was recently inspired by someone on Instagram and wanted to recreate the look and put my own twist on it. This dresser needed something bold since the original finish was so boring. I sanded everything and made a few repairs before I could continue with my vision. I taped off the appropriate areas and stained an upside down triangle shape with General Finishes Antique Walnut Gel Stain. I primed everything else with General Finishes Stainblocker before applying Antique White Milk Paint. Everything was sealed with General Finishes Flat Out Flat Topcoat to achieve a matte finish.

The wood drawers were cleaned, repaired, and oiled. The original brass hardware was kept, and polished to a high shine using Brasso. The body was painted using General Finishes Milk Paint in Snow White! It turned out gorgeous!

Hi Friends! We ran across this dresser sitting on the curb! She was in need of some repair but the result was worth every drop of sweat! She was hand painted in Coastal Blue milk paint...she was painted clean (no distressing) her hardware was finished in a Matte Black finish the entire piece was sealed in General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in a Satin finish!

I used to steer clear away from this MCM style until one day, I had a vision. This chest needed something BOLD. I used General Finishes Queenstown Gray Milk Paint on the body and colorblocked the drawers with General Finishes Antique White Milk Paint and General Finishes Antique Walnut Gel Stain. The body and painted drawers were sealed with my favorite sealer, General Finishes Flat Out Flat Topcoat.

I love when a client stays true to the color palette of the era and opts for a genuine Mid Century color on a Mid Century piece of furniture! The top of this stylish high boy dresser was stripped and the frame and drawer fronts sanded to give a solid foundation for this pretty turquoise color. I used this mix on a couple of past projects and loved the deep saturated color. The formula is as follows: 2 parts Lamp Black, 2 parts Corinth Blue, and 1 part Patina Green. 

Framed in white, this beautiful Credenza glows with GF Java Gel Stain.  The inside and sides of the drawers have been painted in teal, adding a touch of style and color.  Truly an extraordinary piece for your home!

When my client brought this drum table to me for an update, my heart skipped a beat. I had never seen a bar set-up like this - ever! The outside curved doors moved on a track revealing a rotating bar. There were glass shelves and holes for liquor & wine bottles...a one stop shop for all your happy hour needs!

The sexy curves on these drawers are finished out in Persian Blue, while the case has a Java Gel finish, making this a soft and beautiful piece of eye candy.

This MCM dresser went from being an outcast to the star of the show!  The dresser was sanded and stained with both Minwax Special Walnut and Rustoleum Dark Walnut.  The drawers were painted with Behr Ultra Pure White made into chalk paint.  The entire piece was given three coats of General Finishes High Performance Top Coat Satin with an additional three coats added to the top for extra durability.  The boring, round hardware was replaced with sleek, chrome hardware, enhancing the same sleekness of the piece itself.  It really went from boring to glorious!

This MCM lowboy needed something special because it had very unique hardware. I thought a colorblock would help make it stand out (in a good way). I used one of my favorite grays on the body, General Finishes Queenstown Gray Milk Paint. I painted the middle and bottom sets of drawers with General Finishes Antique White Milk Paint. The top set of drawers were refinished with General Finishes Antique Walnut Gel Stain. My only regret is not keeping this dresser for myself! 

This MCM lowboy had been forgotten and neglected by its previous owner. Now it is renewed and refinished with semi-gloss goodness.   I achieved this look by using GF Stain Blocker, a custom mix of white acrylic paint, Antique Walnut Gel Stain, gold acrylic paint and GF High Performance polyurethane water based topcoat in semi- gloss. 

This lonely end table needed some TLC to bring it back to life.  Now, it has a beautiful wood grain top and a new home between two chairs (and matching server!).  This simple piece was refinished in General Finishes Java gel stain and sealed with General Finishes High Performance top coat. The body was completed in Annie Sloan Old White and clear waxed.

This beautiful Mid Century Modern Lane dresser had such beautiful lines and I just wanted to highlight them.  I painted the outside in General Finishes Chalk paint in Chalk White and added Briwax in Antique Mohogany to the drawer fronts to bring out the natural wood color.  

This piece holds a lot of history and I was beyond excited to update it. It started off as my friends childhood dresser and is going to be placed in their media room as an entertainment center. The best part of this, I found her 1st earring she ever had under the top drawer!!

Mid Century made modern again!  Coastal Blue is one of my favorites for mid century!

This table was in rough shape when I received it -- scratches, water rings, and a poor refinishing job. I gave it a new life with General Finishes Antique Walnut Gel Stain. This table now has a new life with an owner who will treat it better. ❤️

When I stumble across a good piece of furniture on Craigslist or Offer Up - I make and offer - schedule a viewing - and pick it up (and I NEVER flake). In the case of this makeover, the dresser found me. Someone on Craigslist contacted me after seeing my work and asked if I wanted to buy their dresser to refinish because they were preparing to move to Hawaii and had to sell all of their belongings.

This mid-century modern dresser was saved from the curb and spruced up with general finishes Coastal Blue milk paint. A light sanding was applied between coats and this handsome guy was completed with a clear soft wax, followed by a light application of soft, dark wax to deepen and enrich the beautiful navy blue.

The top half was given new white/antique brass melon knobs and the bottom half was completed with some upcycled mic-century hardware, repurposed from a previous project.

This was my 1st ever MCM to refinish (not my usual style) I am now in love with the crisp clean lines of Mid-Century Modern !  I used all GF products. Brown Mahogany gel stain along with Snow White milk paint & High Performance Top Coat in Satin. Cleaned & polished original hardware & lined all drawers w/ Ikat pattern fabric. 

The stars definitely shine for this mid-century modern beauty. This vintage Broyhill Premier Emphasis credenza has been given a new life while keeping it's amazing retro feel. The wood was cleaned and refreshed and then touched up in spots with General Finishes gel stain in Antique Walnut. It was then painted in a custom blend of GF Milk paint in Basil and Patina. Trim areas and detailed insets were painted in GF chalk paint in French Vanilla. Retro starbust stencils were drawn and cut and then painted in French Vanilla also.

This classic MCM dresser needed an updated look because the original finish was compromised. I used General Finishes Queenstown Gray Milk Paint on the body and a custom mix of General Finishes Antique Walnut and General Finishes Java Gel Stain on the drawer fronts to create a new look for this dresser.

This dresser features 9 drawers, that have been refinished inside and out. The legs and drawer fronts have been stained in Java Gel and the frame has been painted in Lamp Black milk paint. Everything has been finished using arm-r-seal. 

This mid century modern table was transformed with the use of General Finishes Coastal Blue Milk Paint and High Performance Top Coat. It can be used as a dining table, desk, or even a stylish crafting table!

Finding a Henredon Campaign style dresser is like finding a needle a haystack; they just don't come along very often! This dresser was a perfect candidate for an update/restoration: the frame was missing some pretty sizeable chunks of veneer, but the dark stained & paint speckled drawers were in near perfect condition. And of course it had that impeccable build that has earned the Henredon brand top marks in the furniture world for years.

This cute little nightstand got a fresh and fun update with a custom mix of General Finishes Chalk Paints in Empire Gray and Fjord Blue. Some light distressing and natural wood are a nice contrast to the blue gray color. This was sealed up with General Finishes High Performance Topcoat in Flat. A new arrow handle and some pretty arrow paper lining the drawer complete this makeover. 

This was left to a lady by her grandmother and had great sentimental value.it was very old.  However is had a heavy dark stain and smelt very strongly of tobacco etc as has been in a smoking household. I stripped this back and mixed GF Driftwood with one part Seagull Grey to create this really beautifull Grey colour which really made this piece sing again. 

The lady lies it and it is now used daily. 

Simple and elegant with a bit of colour.  

First of all I've taken down old finish. Applied gel stain. Waited aprox 72h and sealed it with High Performance in Satin.

Took this blanket chest from drab to FAB!! After repairing the body and stipping the original finish, I used GF Brown Mahogany to bring the wood back to life. After it was painted I sealed everything with the Satin High Profomance sealer! 

This mid-century campaign dresser was in bad aesthetic shape when I found it! The veneer was chipped away in parts, there was duck tape residue stuck across the drawers and the brass hardware was varnished almost to a black! This dresser first received an overhaul with the use of some Bondo to fix and repair the missing chuncks of veneer off of the backside corners. The whole dresser was then sanded down and then painted with General Finishes Coastal Blue and sealed with General Finishes Flat Out Flat.

CAN WE SAY COBALT!!!!! 

This mid century credenza had an amazing shape!! However, that finish had to go! The original orange lacquer I wanted to keep some how, so I just sanded through the top lacquer to leave the orange color. I added on a cobalt blue paint, as well as a different shade of orange,  and distressed my little heart out! Canvas art is mine too, I just needed something BOLD to go with the credenza! 

When we found this piece it had already been converted from a 1950's television console into a dresser.  We thought it had great bones, but, a drawer was missing so we decided to convert it into a cubbie.  After adding some beadboard for interest, the cubbie got a pop of color using a custom mix of patina green as the base.  We love Snow White on mid century furniture because it is crisp and clean.  Several coats of color inside and out followed by our favorite top coat High Performance Poly in Satin.  This piece is ready to be used as an entry console, tv console or even a dresser.

This mid-century waterfall dresser arrived to us needing a little love. It was missing a trim piece at the bottom which required us to make a custom piece to fit. This beauty needed a good sanding before applying the General Finishes Candlite Gel Stain and GF Lamp Black Milk Paint. The hardware needed a good cleaning using Brasso metal polish. 

This sleek Mid Century Modern nine drawer dresser and nightstand are stunners.  The set has been lovingly cared for by one family.  The classic lines are vintage Mid Century, now with an updated look.  The solid wood construction of this set is timeless.  Dresser is 60"Lx31"Hx18D    Nightstand is 20"Lx26.5" Hx 13"D

This old stereo console got an updated.  Cabinet painted in Linen with a custom mixture of Gray and Blues for the middle accents, and topped off with Java Gel stain.  Ready to bring some classic rock into your home.

This desk had beautiful lines and hardware, but simply needed a little facelift. The desk body was painted with General Finishes Coastal Blue and sealed with a clear and dark wax. The top of the desk was kept in the original wood and stain. The lucite circles were removed from the drawer hardware to better compliment the new color and the handles were given a bit o' brasso to bring out the shine.

A quick scan of a local garage sale post gave me a peek of a spindle leg. I just knew it was MCM. When the owner gave me a full pic, I instantly saw the end result in my mind. When that happens, I had to have it. Java was my only choice. For the first time, I contrasted it with pure white. I even cut my stencil just right to easily place it flat on the door. A bit of gold on the handles and feet were the finishing touches, and inspired by the vintage butterflies I bought from the same person. To keep that vintage 70's feel, I used a fun green on the interior.

This is one of my favorite pieces I have done.  I wanted to keep it simple and classy so I chose General Finishes Milk Paint in Antique White.  This white is the perfect creamy color, not too white, not to creamy.  The top I stained with Java Gel.  This is my favorite combination.  I lined the drawers with fabric drawer liners as a finishing touch.  I had it posted for 2 days before she found her forever home.  My customer  just purchased a new home and this piece went into her entryway so it's the first thing you see when entering her home.  Her happiness with the piece made me happy.

Hi there friend! This Mid-Century beauty was hang out at the local thift shop...she seemed so lonely and out of her element! We snapped her up, took her to the nearest "Sock Hop" for a good time, brough her home and started working on her! She's hand painted in Coastal Blue and MillStone milk paints! We kept her paint clean with no distressing! She was a delight to work with! We'll tell you this..Peggy Sue wasn't lonely much longer! We hope you love her!

My first vision for these Mid Century Tables was simple, sedate and white. I painted one table and determined it was sedate alright! I quickly changed my vision. 

A created two custom mixes of teal paint. I painted a base coat of one color and after it dried I applied the second coat here and there and dripped water on I t to create an old stained effect. I repeated this technique with both the copper and tawny Pearl Effects. I used a bit of bronze to add age and when it was dry I sealed the base. The top is sanded, stained with Java Gel and then sealed.

I spruced up this gorgeous mid century modern console with GF Coastal Blue Milk Paint on the body, followed by GFHP Flat Top Coat. I stripped and sanded the drawers and cabinet faces and legs and used The Real Milk Paint Co. Hemp Oil on the beautiful wood. I painted the interior cabinets with GF Seagull Gray Milk Paint.

This midcentury Art Deco waterfall dresser was in rough shape when we picked it up so it needed a mix of paint and stain to bring out what wood grain was in good shape.  I wanted a deep moody watery Blue effect as a nod to the waterfall style and a pop of gold to stay true to the midcentury roots. We used Early American stain to bring out the wood tones and Fjord Blue Chalk Paint with 3 different layers of Pitch Black Glaze Effects to achieve the look.  

This Modern Majestic Masterpiece was found at a garage sale where the owner practically wanted to pay me to take it. I wasn't about to leave this beauty behind, so I loaded her up and brought her home. The wood was dull and dry, and it had a wonderful musty smell as if it had been sitting in someone's basement for many years. She was screaming to bring her beauty back in high Mid Century Modern style and that's just what she got! 

This beautiful solid wood mid century dresser was previously covered in a chipped and outdated finish. The shape and the drawer pulls were so classy though that I wanted to bring it back to life. I refinished it in a custom blend of Lamp Black and Coastal blue. The sides were done in Coral Crush and Somerset Yellow, but kept some original wood visible because of it's beauty.

These two gentlemen were sitting in a thrift shop about 25 miles from our home...we stopped....did some bartering and walked out smiling with these beautiful Bassetts! We brought them home, hand painted them in General Finishes Lamp Black and General Finishes Tuscan Red. We then sealed them with High Performance Clear Coat and painted the hardware Matte Black...We hope you love!

This 1960's Harmony House dresser was in need of a makeover. We stripped and restained the drawers using a dark walnut stain and General Finishes Gel Topcoat so the natural beauty of the wood grain could shine through. Then, we helped her to stand out from the crowd of stained drawer fronts and white bodies with bold Persimmon, Martha Stewart Gold and Snow White diagonal stripes.  Tying the look together, we updated the bow pulls and the legs with Martha Stewart Gold and topcoated the entire piece in a satin finish. Now she is a piece of art with purpose! 

I spruced up this great dresser with GF Driftwood milk paint, Winter White and Van Dyke Brown Glaze Effects, and finished with GF flat out flat top coat. 

Transformed this mid century classic for a client's baby boys room.  The top has significant damage and had to be  sanded back completely.  Top and drawer fronts were finished in GF Java Gel stain a d remainder was painted in GF seagulls gray milk paint.  I protected the piece with 4 coats of high performance top coat in flat.  

My client's son wanted a monochromatic gray tone design for this Union Jack MCM dresser. We started with a custom mix of General Finishes Queenstown Gray and Seagull Gray which resulted in this stunning medium gray color. Accents of Snow White and Queenstown Gray completed the color palette. A very subtle amount of black wax was added to the design to give it a little bit of dimension and a worn, vintage look. 

These adorable mid-century modern night stands have such great geometric shapes that were fun to make pop with this paint pattern. The base is done with General Finishes Antique White milk paint. I added a pop of color on the inside and on the drawer fronts, leaving some of the natural wood exposed for the mid-century style.

My favorite piece so far!  I get to stare at the beauty every morning, since it permanent residence is my bedroom.  This updated MCM lowboy dresser has been refinished in Candlelite gel stain and Driftwood milk paint.  Drawer fronts sealed wiht Gel polyurethane, frame sealed with HPTC in flat. 

I spruced up this MCM console with GF Coastal Blue Milk Paint and GF Flat Out flat Top Coat. I also added Anthropologie Knobs. 

Sleek and chic mid century modern four drawer chest by Hooker. We updated using General Finishes Patina Green Milk Paint (on box). Antique Walnut Gel Stain (on drawer fronts). Sealed with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat Satin Sheen (on box).

The top of this was badly scratched so I filled the cracks with wood filler and painted it in a custom mixed green. The drawers were in good shape so I freshened them up with gel stain.

This dresser was a fun project.  It's an incredibly well built Thomasville piece that I found being neglected and left for dead in someone's garage.  I'm attaching a picture of the before to show just what I saw when I found it online.  It's one of those times where I instantly saw what it could be and knew I had to have it!  After getting it home I knew right off I'd be painting and staining this piece so I got to work prepping the top.  And you'll see a pic for that as well, sanding back that layer of original top coat and stain to bring back the beauty of what it was.

This Bassett was a little sad looking when I purchased it.  I knew it needed a little refreshing to bring out the details. The Tiki style totem pole piece down the middle really draws you in.  Drawer fronts have been painted in Antque white milk paint, hardware was scrubbed and cleaned to its original golden brass glow.  Frame of dresser was stained in Antique Walnut Jave gel.  Dresser sealed in High Performance topcoat in flat.

Love this beauty painted with General Finishes Antique White Milk Paint paired with Java Gel Stain on drawer fronts; drawer insides were painted with Annie Sloan Barcelona Orange Chalk Paint and the original hardware was faux finished in gold gilding. The final protective finish of High Performance Topcoat provides a Satin sheen and additional durability. 

The sprayed white lacquer finish showcases the classic MCM lines of these Kroelher nightstands, and the bases, in General Finishes Lamp Black anchor and highlight the lines.
