Rachel Lintula, Owner at Queen Patina

At my core, I'm both a beautifier and a perfectionist!  At times, it can be a stressful combination as I work to restore furniture (stressing over every imperfection!) and to develop beautiful gardens.  Read more at www.queenpatina.com--you'll find my furniture process and all I've learned in the garden.

Kent Coffey // Re-visioning

By Rachel Lintula, Owner at Queen Patina

Winning Category

This credenza, with its interesting lines, compelling wood grain, and solid construction required only a slight re-visioning of the original to become a client's favorite piece. I stripped the entire credenza, sanded each component carefully, essentially creating a blank slate. Together, the client and I decided on muted color scheme - one that spoke to both her color preferences as well as the local landscape, namely Lake Superior. Hence, we retained most wood grain, sanding and oiling the body and center drawers, using a series of fine grits and many coats of Danish oil in between.
