Royal Grey

Here is my latest creation!  How pretty would this be in a dinning room as a buffet or in a bedroom?!? I bought this piece from my friend Anne and it was just a little dated so I decided to paint it in Generalfinishes Driftwood grey.  I distressed the paint and stained the top a beautiful, deep brown and used Generalfinishes High Performance Top Coat in Satin.

This super unique piece was in pretty rough shape when I found it.  Lots of scratches, water marks and even a few holes.  I decided to do the paint with stain look to highlight the unique silouette.  I painted the outside frame in General Finishes Chalk paint in Chalk White.  I also added a few coats of General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in Satin to keep it looking amazing.

This beautiful Mid Century Modern Lane dresser had such beautiful lines and I just wanted to highlight them.  I painted the outside in General Finishes Chalk paint in Chalk White and added Briwax in Antique Mohogany to the drawer fronts to bring out the natural wood color.

French Connection

Winning Category

I got this dresser from a frenchmen named Bruno who builds guitars, flys planes and brews his own beer.  He is such a cool guy and I just wanted to do this classic piece justice.  I painted the outside of the dresser in General Finishes Chalk paint in Limestone  and I painted the drawers in General Finishes Chalk paint in Chalk White.  I lightly distressed the edges and painted the hardware matte black.

This handsome old dresser had such amazing lines and all the original metal keyholes and wooden wheels.  We painted the whole outside of the dresser in General Finishes Black Pepper Chalk paint.  I also waxed the drawers with Briwax in the shade Antique Mohogany.  Love how stately this piece looks!  Makes any room feel more cozy!

Ice Cream Paint Job

By UpcyclingbyAmy at Upcycling by Amy in Stoddard, WI.

Winning Category

This vintage dresser had, count 'em, 7 different colors of paint on it so I completely stripped it down to give a beautiful, fresh, smooth finish.  We mixed 4 parts General Finishes Chalk White with 2 parts General Finishes Patina Green and 1 part General Finishes Costal Blue.  I painted the whole dresser in Chalk White first and then did two coats of the new custom color and distressed the paint to show the white threw it.  Love this mint green dresser for a beautiful pop of color in any home.

Into the Forrest Green

By UpcyclingbyAmy at Upcycling by Amy in Stoddard, WI.

Winning Category

This poor dresser had been passed up by everyone because it was missing two of its drawers.  I decided to cut out the support piece on the bottom to make it one whole open cubby and I lined the inside in reclaimed barnwood.  I really wanted to make this a stately piece so I mixed 1 part General Finishes Milk Paint in Emerald Green and 1 part General Finishes Milk Paint in Costal Blue.  The final product is this amazingly deep, rich green color that really stands out in a room.  We finished off the look with hammered brass drawer pulls and who doesn't love a globe or two?!?
