This fabulous 1930's cedar chest was so much fun to paint and very difficult to part with when it came time to put it up for sale!

It is another fantastic thrift store find!  I was shopping the aisles for something special when I practically tripped over this beauty. She was actually not much of a 'beauty' that day but I could see the potential for her to sing the Bohemian Rhapsody!

I used a number of different paint hues to achieve what I feel is a true Bohemian vibe for this cedar chest! It is painted in Behr Marquee Realm flat and Behr Marquee flat color matched to Sherwin Williams Moscow Midnight.

There was so much interesting carved detail that I decided to highlight the detail in Deco Paint's Worn Penny. I used tiny makeup brushes to apply the copper highlighting in all of the grooves. All of the tedious hand work paid off! I love the way the detail turned out!

I very lightly distressed with 220 grit sandpaper. I top coated the piece in GF HPTC, then glazed with General Finishes Pitch Black glaze.
