China Cabinet Re-purposed into a Bench Seat

By Fallon_Market House Restorations, Owner at Market House Restorations, LLC in Salem, VA.

I had a blast working on this project. Since the top of the china cabinet was pretty dated, I knew I didn't want to use it, but I also knew I didn't want it to go to waste. I removed all of the moldings, and evened out the bottom to give it a good base. I also took off the doors and drawers and filled all off the holes so it would be a nice smooth finish. I replaced the back with barnwood and added feet to give the piece some character. I will include before and after pictures so you can see the transformation. I also made a matching barn wood shelf to go over the bench with hooks (painted in GF Linen like the bench) to complete the set.

The bottom part was completed with Country Chic Paint'sl, Woodland, and then I used GF Van Dykes Brown Glaze over top, with a tad bit of GF Winter White Glaze. I also used GF Java Gel and redid the top. The whole piece was sealed with GF HPTC, Flat.
