This piece was my most popular by far. I found this sad cabinet at the local thrift store and thought it would be the perfect project to try out glazing. The body was painted cream and glazed with Van Dyke. It took a while with sanding and wiping back the glaze to get it how I wanted it, but I'm pretty happy with it!

This dresser was a rescue on the side of the road. I couldn't believe someone would get rid of a solid wood dresser! This hombre look was created using GF Coral Crush milk paint as the deepest color, then adding an increasing 1/4 part Snow White milk paint to the coral to achieve the color pallet. Fresh white knobs and a fun floral patterned lines the drawers. These colors made me happy.

'The Desk that took a Year...'
By Bethany Shmyr, Owner at FourLeaf Furniture in Sparks, NV.
Winning Category
Ok- I DID happen to have a baby in the span of that year-which did slow things down a little, but it was well worth it. Whenever I had a spare moment, I would sneak out to my garage and stencil a bit of it. There was plenty of sweat from a sweltering 120 degree garage in the summer and a bit of frozen fingers that wouldn't quite paint in the chill of winter. I ended up hand tracing each and every angle since I didn't like the bleed from the stencil. It was a tedious labour of love, but I will remember this project fondly.
