Bradley McCalister is a woodturner for the 21st century. Honoring woodturning as both ancient art and modern expression, he passionately believes in teaching others his craft. In 2017 Bradley’s scheduled educational offerings will easily exceed 200 .
A natural demonstrator, Bradley is the wood turning educator for The Woodworking Shows. He works with woodturning clubs as a mentor and hands-on teacher across the country and is a product demonstrator for manufacturers of woodturning tools, equipment, and supplies.
Bradley McCalister brings a comfortable style of education to the courses that he has developed teaching and demonstrating as a professional woodturner. Bradley has a true love for the craft of woodturning, and will always make time for just one more question.
When asked about his work, Bradley shares that “for me, a wood turning design begins with a personal vision inspired by what I see and what I feel rather than by the specific medium or technique. As a self-taught artist, I have no fear of the traditional rules or boundaries that may shackle some in the woodturning world.”
When he isn’t traveling and teaching, Bradley continues to expand his ability to teach his craft through turning and filming educational courses for The Studios of Bradley R.M., his on-line woodturning school.
Bradley also enjoys working in the lawn & garden of his century-old house in rural South Georgia. When it’s time to relax, and enjoy a glass of tea, it’s swing time on front porch.
