General Finishes

I love everything Americana and when I did my first Flag dresser many months ago, I fell in love.  This style of dresser creates a waving effect of the flag that cant be beat. This piece was pretty beat up when I got it and I had to fix many dings, but the bones were good! After removing a very thick plastic type finish on top, I added 3 star stencils and used Java Gel Stain on top to make it shine! The structure of the dresser is painted with Coastal Blue and then I used a stencil for the star and handpainted the stripes.  A great amount of distressing went into this piece so it would have a rustic feel to it rather than a new, shiny flag.  On the front flag design I added brown glaze to make it appear that this flag has flown for years and has a beautiful history behind it!  I LOVE it!
