Vintage 1940s Samsonite luggage repurposed. This one took time and patience. I wanted to infuse a local vibe into this suitcase so I collected vintage gas station maps from Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I approached this artistically and methodically. I carefully selected sections of the maps containing local well known spots and strategically placed them on the surface and decopaged them all over. Cutting with an X-acto knife and carefully tucking, cutting and shaping it took me about 2 or 3 days to completely cover it. I used High Performance Top Coat in flat to preserve it. I used an old table base leveling it with wood, I bolted it together. The base is pained in a Linen and Millstone custom mix and waxed.
