The Lady of Shalott Dresser

By Diane Llewellyn Grover from The Paint Factory, Brush Tamer at The Paint Factory in Hillsboro, OR.

If anyone knows me, you know that I love The Lady of Shalott.  And I mean LOVE, to the point of obsession.  When I heard about the contest I knew instantly that this would be the image I would use for my transfer.

The oak dresser is a solid little piece of furniture, although I had to remove the veneer top because of damage.  I wanted the cabinet to have an aged patina to it.  Lots of variations in color and texture.  Because of this, it took coats and coats and then some more coats of General Finishes glazes.  Even though the pieces is small in size, the piece was finished over the course of several days (longer than I'd actually like to admit to).

The image transfer was created using Artisan Enhancements transfer gel.
