We had oak cabinets originally. I painted them with 3 coats of General Finishes Queenstown Gray and sealed them with 3 coats of General Finishes water based satin clear coat. All cabinet doors were removed and sanded outside, cupboard boxes were sanded in place. ( This project took me over a year. ) I love how they turned out! We did a remodel and bought some additional cabinets and added an island, knocked out the patio door and added a tv room behind it. The counter top lady was so impressed with the way the cabinets looked, she called me back and tried to hire me out. :)
