Wedding Keepsake Box

By Deanna, Owner at Lantern Lane Home Decor in Oak Ridge, NC.

One of a kind! This keepsake box began it's life as an old silverware box.  The silverware long gone, it needed a new purpose.  The nuptials of a friend provided the perfect opportunity to creat a one of a kind gift.  The box was given a coat of primer then the magic began.  The box bottom was sprayed with Champagne Mist. The top of the box underwent a process blending and blotting different colors of paint to create a dimensional finish. Next came the application of a flowered napkin via Modgepoge. A spray of clear coat was applied after the napkin had dried. Wood trim was sprayed with the same Champagne Mist color and applied to create a frame around the napkin. Lace ribbon softened the look. Then came the embellishments!  Searching for just the right color combination, simple white paper flowers were sprayed with various shades of rose and pink paints heavily watered down. Once dried the tips were hand painted with gold metallic paint. Vinyl letters were sprayed in a Rose Gold for a subtle effect. A resin mold sprayed in Rose Gold was applied and created the perfect frame for the pendant jewel.  The pearled heart was the final piece to complete the look.
