Seagull bookcase

By Margaret o connor, Ms. at Reloved by Mags in Dublin, D5, IE

This very tall bookcase arrived in my sitting room one day as a request to restyle, I nearly had a heart attack, could I do a piece this big!!! Well I took on the challenge ,started by sanding the top back to raw state and applied a medium oak wood dye, the rest of the bookcase was lightly sanded, primed and 2 coats of Seagull grey were applied, I was in love with this colour as I hadn't used it before, I waited patiently for paint to dry ,(which really wasn't that long--) I loved the change from a dark old pine to this amazing modern colour, I sealed the whole piece in HPTC satin finish, an added moulding and a French inspired stencil in silver completed the look
