I did my first turn around to pick up the lumber for this bench. I saw the Lucas Oil stamp and knew that I would create something around it. This bench was constructed using reclaimed lumber from pallets. The dimensions and design were based on what usable wood was available. There’s one Lucas Oil stamp on each side of the bench. I thoroughly cleaned the wood with dish soap after the pallets were disassembled and gave it a light sanding. The bench was constructed using pocket screws. The piece was topcoated with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in flat to keep the rustic look intact but also to seal in the rust from the nail heads.
