This is a desk that I designed and built for my wife, using a limited supply of Apitong lumber that was given to me. It turned out to be a fun side project! I took advantage of some free time and decided to make my own tambour using the Amana Tambour Router Bit Set. I made the molding and turned my own door knobs as well. The drawers are dovetail joined, and the legs are joined with dovetail slip joints, with extra corner supports. I decided to use turn buttons for the doors of the hutch to give it that old time look, and went with Acorn brand H hinges. The finish is simply Minwax Sedona Red stain wiped on with three coats of brushed on Minwax Satin Polyurethane.
