Does a piece of furniture ever remind you of a person? Well, this little Boho beauty reminded me of my friend Michele from the moment I saw it, just something about its funkiness and cool lines. She had this green sweater she used to wear, old beat up thrift store cardigan that only she could make look cool :-) Every time I see that color I think of her ... so it was the natural choice to pair with this gorgeous cherry <3
I thought the colors were really cool together and it was a really fun funky unique piece very much like her namesake.
I painted her with the mardi gras leaving all of her details in the original wood, which I brought back to life with some tender sanding and a ton of dark brown wax. Dark brown wax on the paint too brought the color to the perfect shade...still feels vintage but has a fresh look <3
This became a favorite finish, and I ended up doing a whole "michele" series ...sometimes you find your best inspiration in your friends :-)
