Leaf is peachy chest of drawers

By Nicky Cash at Done up North in Leeds, West Yorkshire, GB

This vintage Lebus Link chest of drawers has been completely restored and transformed from it's original look but so very nearly didn't get a makeover at all!

It was bought on Ebay very cheaply and mainly because I loved the original handles which were black, perhaps Bakelite, and had little white stars in them.  My parents kindly collected it for me as it was local to them and drove it over 2 hours to me presumably wondering what on earth I had bought.  The veneer was flapping off, water damage all over and half of those lovely handles...broken.  So it should really have gone back to the seller as it was in too poor a state to be sold but in the end I felt I really couldn't give up on it!

It has been glued and filled and sanded and primed and then given 3 coats of Fusion Mineral Paint in Coral.  Then I painstakingly created geometric leaf designs inside hand-drawn outlines with masking tape which were painted in Fusion Mineral Paint Coal Black.

The piece was given the perfect protective top coat for it's brand new life and look with 3 coats of High Performance Top Coat in Flat.

The final touch was a brand new set of lovely Rose Gold handles.
