Gun Cabinet Transformation

By A Ray of Sunlight, Furniture Artist in Duluth, MN.

My husband built this cabinet back in highschool to hold his guns. Years later we were about to toss it out when I realized that I would love to keep some of his wood working memories alive. We removed all of the gun cabinet racks and replaced them with shelves. Then we updated the body of the cabinet with good ole' Java gel that seems to always come to the rescue. I love how the java brought out the wood grain, and also showed all of the little imperfections my husband made as he built and finished this way back in highschool.

We refreshed the inside with Linen MP to contrast with the updated body. Now it's a piece that we get to show case and enjoy for years to come!
