I love new beginnings, spring time,flowers and sunshine! My sweet client had been through a rough winter, having a back surgery that had a 12 month recovery period! When she contacted me to redo her Grandmother’s buffet, I asked her one simple question “What is your favorite object?” She answered by saying she loved to read her bible in the morning outside and loved flowers. We had just come through a brutal winter, spring was here and she wanted a lot of florals! I began to paint the flowers cascading all over the top and down the side. It was a labor of love,as I tried to give her a perpetual springtime! As I began to do the panels, I felt inspired to put this scripture on them “The flowers are blooming, it’s time to sing again! “ She is also a worship leader which she had not been able to do for 3 months! When I revealed the piece to her, she just stood there gazing. I got a little nervous thinking maybe she didn’t like it! She then looked at me and said “ How did you know that is my favorite scripture?” I had no idea but I know someone who does☺️
I painted it with Tatted Lace, Designer in You paint line, then began the process of hand painting each and every flower! I had no images or pictures to go by but just let the inspiration take life! Three days later, she was done! Every piece has its issues but you work through them and make it happen! I try to remind myself that it’s just paint and I can start over again if necessary; it takes the fear out of trying new things! I love what I am blessed to do: Turning furniture into art, one piece at a time
