Faux Rustic Buffet

By Jody Findley, Owner at JF Furniture Design in Lizton, IN.

This faux finish rustic look buffet was created using a glaze, milk paint, and dry brush technique. After a thorough cleaning, sanding, and oil based primer prep was out of the way, I got down to the fun stuff! A base coat of General Finishes Millstone went on first followed by a coat of High Performance Top Coat. I then mixed up a glaze by using dark brown craft paint and Valspar clear mixing glaze. I feel like Daniel Son from Karate Kid "Wax on. Wax off" except that it's glaze and not wax. Any who, after the glaze was dry, I used a dry brush technique to layer alternating coats of General Finishes milk paint in Antique White and Seagull gray. Finally, I topped the beauty in General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in flat and added new oil rubbed bronze knobs. Love this look!
