Farmhouse Hutch

By Tammy, Owner/Artist at The Tin Shed Design Studio in Howell, MI.

This style hutch lends itself to the farmhouse look to begin with, but this finish sure does put it over the top!  The original rock maple finish was properly prepped and primed to create a good base and prevent bleed through.  GF Dark Chocolate Milk Paint was used just around the edges where I knew I wanted to add the chipped worn look and the whole piece was painted in GF Antique White Milk Paint.  I wanted the distressing to be a little less uniform and a bit more natural chipped look, so I used vaseline in the places I didn't want the Antique White to adhere, showing the chocolate brown.  The top was sanded to bare wood and stained with GF Java Gel stain.  Everything was sealed with GF HP Topcoats.
