Decoupaged Primitive Trunk

By Rebekah Wilson, Revive, Mobile, AL, Artisan at Revive in Creola, AL.

This trunk was split and falling apart. I used wood glue and bar clamped it .. Filled in holes and replaced hinge screws. I painted the base in Annie Sloan Coco and used some General Finished Dark Chocolate mixed with floetrol and made a glaze and did two heavy coats of glaze and wiped some back here and there to create multitoned dimension. This is my first decoupage project. I had some paper bags from walmart and other places and I tore these up crumbed them and dipped om a bowl of water .. I applied with modge podge until I ran out and had to water down some Gorilla Wood glue. I sealed with General Finishes high performance satin 3 coats .. the base I sealed with General Finishes Flat Out Flat
