Cowgirl Bling

By Melissa Flippin, Owner/Artist at Flippotential Custom Finishes in Wheelock, TX.

Why store your precious jewels in a plain, ordinary jewelry box when you can display them in this??!!

This jewelry armoire was first painted in GF Milstone milkpaint.

Going for a western theme, we chose vintage cowgirl images and decoupaged them to the top and sides using Mod Podge, then sealed with GF HP Topcoat.

We then used AE Fine Stone to create a raised stencil design, framing the images on the sides. Tack conchos were added to the top image to give it that extra bit of western bling.

GF Van Dyke Brown glaze was applied and wiped back to bring out the raised stenciling and depth to the drawer fronts.

And finally, GF Patina Green was used to dry brush the knobs and to paint stenciled arrows on the drawer sides.  A cowgirl’s dream is complete!
