Where to begin with this charmingly stubborn beauty. I bought her from a friend and fellow shabbier. I just fell in love with her raised details, chunky feet, and her gorgeous drop brassy gold original hardware. Unfortunately, after one coat of paint, I knew this was going to be a disasterous dance to the finish. The bleed through was terrible. I am not really sure how many coats of Zinsser Shellac I applied because it was a traumatic experience and I am trying to block it out of my memory. I finally was able to get her all completely painted in Annie Sloan Old White. I distressed her heavily to bring out her beautiful lines along her raised details and then finished her off with Annie Sloan Clear Wax. In the end, despite our stubborn sides battling it out, I think we met somewhere in the middle with a look we could both appreciate. She truly is charmingly stubborn in all her ways.
