A drab oak dresser was magically turned into an antique apothecary! Well, not really, but here's how it happened... After I cleaned, sanded, and filled in all the holes for the hardware (mental note: buy hardware that fits the holes!) I laid out the color placement for the drawers using color swatches. I chose a lipstick red craft paint (in hindsight, I would use General Finishes!), General Finishes Milk Paint in Snow White, Somerset Gold, and color mixes that included Patina Green and Midnight Blue. The stained areas got deepened with Espresso water based stain also by General Finishes. For the vintage bottle green, I used Patina Green and Somerset Gold. For the aqua color, I used a mix of Patina Green, Midnight Blue, and Snow White. I aged the painted areas with a custom glaze of clear mixing glaze and dark brown craft paint and distressing. The whole piece was treated to a beautiful General Finishes High Performance Top Coat finish in satin sheen. Finally, I added the new antique brass cup pull hardware. She's now a beautiful showstopper!
