This dresser is such a striking combination of painted and natural wood. When I bought this dresser the top was in such beautiful condition with just a few character flaws that I really wanted to highlight and enhance. So I painted the body and drawers in Annie Sloan Old White. I watched a video a few years ago about how Annie Sloan's Dark Wax could be used as a stain to bring out a beautiful wood grain. I thought I would try that to see if it enriched it and after two coats it highlighted the natural beauty. I am a big believer in using the original hardware and keeping it in its original patina if possible. In keeping with that philosophy, I applied the dark wax to the wood knobs as well, which brought out quite a variance in grain and color. The pattern of the wood was brought to life in this drab to fab flip. This dresser was also featured by Annie Sloan on her Annie Sloan America Facebook Page.
