Angelic Cabinet

By Monika Tyszczak at eMTePLACE in Dąbrowa Górnicza, PL

I  have always loved the country side and a folk style painted  furniture.  I would like to present you the linen cabinet I have found on line for just few cents. She was in very good condition. I just needed to clean her well with flex seed oil soap (HMF24) and bring her beautiful color back with Liberon wax. I have also used flax seed oil to refresh her beautiful amber colour interior .  The idea for the cabinet  was inspired by Paper Cut-out of unknown Lithuanian Folk Artist . I hand painted this motive on my cabinets doors using General Finishes Milk Paint in Snow White ( you can see painting process here: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2203384586368638&id=82811378...) I love how amazing coverage of GF paint is!  I have also sew linen curtains and glued strips of lace on each of the shelves. Side of the drawers were stencilled with Fafame stencil using GF paints as well  I felt like Painting entire piece  and covering this amazing old grainy wood would be like committing a crime; however, refreshing her and adding hand painted artistic motive brought her back to life. I did not cover up nor did not hide little imperfections..I love to see old history hiden iside every inch of this piece. The best part is:  that she found her new forever home...at my little cottage at the mountain village, place where my mom was born and where I grew up and spent all my vacations. I will  take a good care of her..so I my kids and future grandkids can appreciate its beauty .
