Aging Gracefully

By BJ Buchter Massa, Owner at Junk’d Up in Carmel, IN.

This sweet old gal came to me desperately needing a facelift. She was wearing a weird orange painted on stain disaster and had a few pieces of missing trim and veneer. But she had beautiful bones. I chose shades of grey as a nod to her age and painted her in Annie Sloan Chak Paint Paris Grey and French Linen. I added the most subtle dusting of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Antoinette along the bottom detail. She was finished in a hand rubbed wax finish using Annie Sloan Clear Wax and aging dust from Coda Artisans. The sides of the drawers were painted in the same Antoinette and stamped with a toile stamp from Iron Orchid Designs. She was snatched up on Etsy and has retired to Florida.
