Rolling Privacy Screen

By Warren Snow at Snow Woodworks in Marshall, VA.

Winning Category

Upon encountering life’s milestone of downsizing to a smaller home, we departed our spacious abode and moved into a 70’s era ranch-style house. The living room became our dining room, and our first challenge to living in smaller quarters began. The nearby opening to the hallway afforded guests an easy view of the other rooms in the house. We needed a way to screen the hallway from view.

Tree of Life Wall Display

By Warren Snow at Snow Woodworks in Marshall, VA.

Winning Category

A local hospice organization (Hospice Support of Fauquier County, Virginia) contacted me to design and make a wall display for their office.  Their desired theme was the Tree of Life, and the display would be used to recognize volunteers and contributors to their organization.  We began a collaboration that led to making a scale model to verify the design, and then the final product pictured here.

Shadowbox Coffee Table

By Warren Snow at Snow Woodworks in Marshall, VA.

Winning Category

An Air Force veteran contacted me for a coffee table that could display memorabilia from his Air Force career.  Being an Air Force Academy graduate he also wanted his 1979 class crest prominently displayed.  A collaboration began that resulted in the table you see here.

Each side of the table houses a shallow drawer under glass to display items.  The center panel’s class crest is done in hand-cut marquetry within a border of aluminum inlay.  The table is made of walnut.  The drawer bottoms reflect the Academy’s terrazzo pattern using ash burl and holly.

Winning Category

The Mahogany Display Case was made for a family who wanted a place to display collected heirlooms.  This is a very large built-in case measuring 5' wide by 7 1/2' tall.  It is made from African mahogany, stained to match the other mahogany furnishings in the room.
