Vintage Vanity Upswing

By The Repurposing Man From Apex, NC

This vintage vanity was a barn find and destined for the fire pit, but I rescued it before that could happen. All the drawers were stuck in place and literally had to slowly and carefully disassemble the vaninty to dislodge the drawers. After reassembly, the entire vanity, mirror frame and supports were sanded to remove all original finish. The drawers, side panels, lower part of the mirror support, and upper part of mirror frame I hand applied 3 coats of New Pine Gel Stain. For the body frame, top, mirror and mirror supports I hand applied 2 coats of Georgian Cherry Gel Stain, and then 2 coats of Black Gel Stain over that and lightly distressing so that the Georgian Cherry color in areas would show through. I applied 3 coats of High Performance Top Coat - Satin (Sprayed) over the entire vanity. The hardware was sprayed in a black lacquer finish.
