Hand Stained Magnolia Accent Tables

By mmembellishments.com, Owner, Designer, Artist at M&M Embellishments in Franklin, PA.

This accent tables were painted with Velvet Finishes Rococo on the top and Cosmopolitan on the base. The base was then sealed with 4 coats of General Finishes High Performance.  The top ~ the icing on the cake ~ was all hand stained to create these Magnolia images.  The basic outlines of the images were transferred to the tops using transfer paper.  Then, I start the staining process, creating depth and dimension so the petals/ flowers come to life. The top was sealed with approximately 8 coats of GF HPTC, then a few more coats with wet sanding between those last 3 applications.  {I have to apply that many coats before I can start sanding so that I don't sand away any of the stained design}  To apply the GF HPTC, I used a Liquitex brush very lightly to try hard not to get streaks.
