This industrial cable spool had been sitting outside at a local salvage shop for months. It was sad and uninspiring. After I purchased it, I gave it a quick sanding and sealed all of the gorgeous color of the wood with General Finishes' Exterior 450. My goal was to turn it into an outdoor table, so I wanted to make sure it would hold up to the elements. Exterior 450 not only provided superior protection but it made the color of the wood deepen and turn richer than it had been previously.

Nice to meet you! I'm Jennifer Baker of Eight Hundred Furniture and I am a proud Certified General Finishes Retailer in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. I sell GF products out of my antique booth at Morgantown Market. My business began when I moved in to my first apartment. I had 800 square feet of space to furnish and an even smaller budget. My necessity for thrifty decorating turned into a love for transforming discarded, outdated, and unwanted pieces of furniture into unlikely treasures. Every piece I work on has a story and you can follow their journeys from start to finish on my blog! I host regular workshops at Morgantown Market as well for folks to join in on the fun and experience General Finishes for themselves!

This tall oak dresser was rescued off of the curb on trash day! Using General Finishes' Java Gel Stain, I refinished the gorgeous oak wood top and drawer fronts. For a flat finish, I sealed them with Flat Out Flat. The rich java colored wood contrasts nicely with the vintage aqua paint color on the dresser body.
