This dresser needed a lot of work and General Finishes products were just what was needed.
The top was sanded down to bare wood in preparation for my favorite water based stain; General Finishes Water Based Wood Stain in Brown Mahogany. I love the deep, rich tone of this stain. Super easy to apply and even more beautiful when top coated. The top coat I used was General Finishes High Performance Topcoat in Flat.
The body was painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Coco. The stencil, drawers and trim were a custom mix of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Coco and Old Ochre. The all-over stencil really brought this piece back to life and provides such visual interest. The hardware was updated and painted with General Finishes Milk Paint in Lamp Black then sealed with HP topcoat in Flat. All of these elements came together for a beautiful, one-of-a-kind treasure.
