General Finishes

Is it easier for you to watch a demonstration video rather than read a 'how-to' article? I agree! That is why I decided to share a video on transforming a dark, traditional side table into a beautiful piece for a coastal-vibed family room. Once I knew this family room would take on a beach theme, General Finishes Persian Blue Milk Paint was the first color that I thought to use. This soft blue is reminiscient of an ocean view with the sun shining down and reflecting off the beautiful and endless blue waters. I finished the table with a coat of General Finishes Flat Out Flat Waterbased Topcoat. The knobs on the side table were a shiny gold. Pretty, but didn't add anything to this coastal piece. Instead of buying new knobs, I painted these with 2 coats of General Finishes Snow White Milk Paint. No sanding or sealing was needed. I painted them and realized that any wear and tear on the knobs would only add more character to the piece. By adding a painted piece to any room, you can easily infuse the room with personality and a flair of color.
