Santa Fe Turqoise Sideboard

After sanding and cleaning the old finish and dirt from this sideboard, the colour of the wood screamed "southwest " to me. I tried blending a variety of different colours and different paint brands. The only one that reminded me of Santa Fe was 3 parts Klein and 1 part Persian blue. I lightly applied several coats of the mix only to find it was a beautiful blue but wasn't quite right. I heavily sanded the sideboard and accented it with Patina green to give it the depth of Santa Fe turquoise. I once again sanded the sideboard to reveal the gold coloured wood underneath, added copper accents to the details and aged it with dark walnut .  I gave it the final sand to reveal the different blues and antique white. This gave it an updated old Santa Fe feel. Finally, I top coated it with high performance satin and sanded it with 600 grit sandpaper to make it feel like satin.
