This modern bedroom furniture is only 10 years old, but came to me looking rather unloved and in a dark cherry finish.
So that the items would compliment each other without being identical and overpowering in the same room, the tallboy was given a crisp, grain sack design. This was achieved using Driftwood Milk Paint slightly lightened with the primary pale cream colour. Set against the light finish on the body, the stripes are eye-catching and the design can be teamed with accessories to either match a modern room or one of rustic charm.
The bedside lockers were painted in the same pale cream of the tallboy with the grain sack design incorporated onto the insides of the lockers - an unexpected surprise when opening the drawers and bringing the three-piece set all together.
The original hardware works well with the new, durable finish and has been given a metallic, aged pewter effect to compliment the grey.
A rustic well-loved design given a modern twist.
