Gold and White Stenciled Desk

By Mitzie Tibbets, Owner/Designer at JoyUs by Design in VA.

This desk went from an ordinary writing desk to something pretty special. I love layering techniques to provide visual interest. The top looked a bit beat up so I knew fabric would be just what was needed for an update. After applying the gold and white fabric with Mod Podge, I painted a diamond on the top using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old Ochre.  Next, I stenciled the top and two of the drawers using General Finishes Dark Chocolate Milk Paint. What a beautiful, rich, dark chocolate!  Gold accents were added to the drawer fronts (and center drawer stencil) using Modern Masters metallic paint in Warm Silver. General Finishes High Performance Topcoat in Satin was applied to seal and protect this piece. This is truly a beautiful, one-of-a-kind desk.
