When I found this bed in a charity shop, I immediately fell in love! She was magnificent before the transformation but she lacked something....yes, romance!!!
After painting with Annie Sloan’s Duck Egg Blue, Old White, and clear and dark wax, we slightly distressed the white frame, then added gold leaf to the ornate details to make them pop.
Staging this bed was an all day, 3 person (and 1 dog) job!! The forecast called for rain but that didn’t stop us! The setting was a beautiful, rolling, green pasture in the Brazos Valley of Texas. The vintage, gold chandelier, hanging from the tree, was the perfect accessory to bring out the gold leaf details. We did beat the rain (barely) and that made for the perfect sky and backdrop for this dreamy bed! Romance was achieved!!
