Close your eyes.. imagine yourself in a Victorian, coastal cottage in Nantucket.. snuggled in down bedding, feeling the cool ocean’s breeze through the window, listening to the calming sound of the surf crash into the shoreline nearby..... open your eyes and there sits this amazing, vintage vanity from years gone by.
Painted in Annie Sloan’s Duck Egg and Old white chalk paints, I went for a very Old World, yet coastal vibe for this vanity set. The top of the center section and back plates were adorned with a raised stencil pattern using AE Pearl Plaster. The original pulls were painted Old White. We used clear and dark waxes to age and seal. To offset the muted blue and white, I applied gold leaf to the trim and details on the legs.
A perfect combination of coastal and vintage!
