This beautiful, yet beat up, Bernhardt Sideboard was in need of some love. Prior to this project I hadn't used Milk Paint on any projects, though I was already solidly in love with Java Gel stain. This seemed like a great starter project for milk paint and Antique White was the perfect color.

I am a wife, mom (to 5 crazy, amazing kids), Jesus lover, owner of Dandelion Designs, and DIY junkie from Northern Illinois. My business was born in 2016 out of the need to have a thing that was "mine". In my season of life, I was quickly getting lost in being a wife and a mom and was quickly losing myself. I have always loved DIY projects and refinishing furniture for our home and it was a natural fit for me. From the start it was so very rewarding for me both emotionally and financially! Within 6 months I entered into a booth space and have been going strong since. I added sign making to my repertorie in early 2017. This business, this passion, has helped me to build friendships and given me so much more than financial gains, it has given me confidence and strength.
The name Dandelion Designs came to me early on in my journey. It was spring, I had all of the kids outside while I was taking photos of my latest (and first to sell!) piece and I saw my kids picking dandelions and blowing the seeds into the wind. Dandelions are the first signs of summer coming, and where I live, that is a big deal after the looooooong winters. Dandelions are the flowers I receive chubby little handfuls of every spring from my little ones who are so proud to give me flowers. Dandelions are the wishes my babies blow into the wind. Dandelions equal happiness and joy. Both of which this journey has proven to give me over and over again.
