They lurk everywhere...every thrift store, every garage sale, and even your parent's basement. You know it when you see it...the product-of-the-fifties-yes-I-know-its-well-made-with-brass-hardware-but-oh-so-boring-dime-a-dozen-dresser! Longing for a new lease on life, this one was given a second chance with multi-colored drawers and handcrafted hardware made from old casters! The base was painted in solid red and five different colors were used in a random, but balanced pattern for placement on the drawers. A glaze was applied to age the piece. After pirating from every old piece of furniture in the workshop, there were finally enough casters to make pulls and knobs for each drawer. The original boring holes in the drawers were enlarged and the stems of the casters were used to hold them in place. As a finishing touch, vintage-inspired typeset paper was used to line the drawers. The entire piece was then top coated in a protective finish. At last...from Dime-A-Dozen to One-of-A-Kind!
