French provincial writing desk with multi layers and multi colors and textures. I used 3 colors of paint as well as 2 different metallics. I also used 2 different top coat finishes- matte and gloss. I hand applied every product with a brush, and after distressing,I meticulously dabbed on the gold leaf Rub n Buff over all the distressed parts of the desk. I applied the gold leaf with a Q-tip to give it a mottled appearance. I used GF HPTC in GLOSS over the entire desk except for the portions that were painted in the deep, rich Bordello color- for that, I used Polyvine wax finish varnish in flat.
