This set of Teak vintage drawer side tables were the result of an auction purchase that didn't quite make it home in one piece... more like about ten!
A lovely 6 drawer sideboard with fabulous teak sleigh legs, which promptly fell apart on trying to get it into the workshop from the car has given birth two 6 vintage drawer side tables.
As a big fan of the distinctive flowing ergonomic handles of pieces of this era, I felt sure they needed to be salvaged and used, even if the rest of the piece was beyond repair.
Each drawer was thoroughly cleaned and the fronts, which were curiously laminate not real wood, whilst the reat of the drawer was solid teak, each had an individual geometric design created in masking tape and painted with Fusion Mineral Paint.
The drawers were reinforced with mdf which was painted black with Fusion Mineral Paint Coal Black and to this the four black powder-coated hair pin legs were attached.
The design was protected with General Finishes High Performance Top coat and the wood was finished with General Finishes Enduro-Var - both in Satin finish.
