This is a coffee table built for my sister and brother-in-law. One side of the table hides a drawer that is held closed by two hidden spring loaded clasps. It's constructed of 6/4 poplar, all mortise and tennon. The finish was acheived by using GF Grey Gel Stain after final sanding to 220. Following the Stain I applied three coats of GF Gel Satin top coat and sanded the top with a dual action sander with 320 grit paper to lighten and slightly distress the top. I followed that up with three more coats of GF Satin top coat buffed with 0000 steel wool to give it a smooth as glass finish.
