I found this vanity at a local thrift shop that normally has nothing worth turning the engine off for. They had no idea the gem they had on thier hands when I swept in and got it a steal. Once in the workshop it was time to reimagine how to add character to this otherwise "plain Jane" piece without overdoing it. It didn't call for appliqués or decoupage or metallics. I kept thinking "sophisticated". I was picturing a high society southern debutante sitting in front of it. Once that inspiration began to flourish, the colors and accents just fell into place.
