Gypsy

By Rebekah Wilson, Revive, Mobile, AL, Artisan at Revive in Creola, AL.

Gypsy started off with a solid coat of Fusion Mineral Paint Coal Black. I had planned to stop here. Black was not her color. She was miserable. I could not decide on another solid color so I just started washing on other colors the AS florence to improve adhesion .. then the Atiler Bright red the Fusion Midnight blue sanding back some as I added addional colours. Some of the blue and red mixed creating some purple and periwinkle. She looked better than solid black, but she did not look complete.  I applied some General Finishes Patina Green and suddenly she started coming alive. To add some depth I washed some General Finishes Dark Chocolate on the front and sides .. blended some Debi's DIY vintage linen in along with more GF Patina Green to create some contrast .. came in with the orange some yellow and lauretien green mix and dripped this on and there was way too much red at some point so I wet sponged some more GF patina green to make smaller particals of red peek through. Wipe sanding to keep smooth. I used the pale gold / silver mix to add some highlights to create some visual texture with the depth I had already set.  My final step was applying some gold rub and buff here and there to tie it all together with the beautiful new hardware.  All while listening to "Gypsy" by Fleetwood Mac. Gypsy is very different from most of my creations and ahe is a little eclectic, but she is loved.
