A request to incorporate a photo of a customer's dog, Floki, onto a set of cornhole boards challenged me to seek out and attempt a new application method that would allow me to push the level of intricacy/detail possible (for me) with wood stains.
Here I attempted a "stain-over" method, where I laid one stain over another while still wet using multiple coats to increase contrast....
This project pushed my current skills to the limit in my most challenging set to date. The complexity of the design required a whole new workflow, an increased understanding of the available features within my stencil cutting software, and if we're being honest... a whole lot of positive energy, hopes and dreams.
I wish Floki was more stoked on this set, however this project has brought me a sense of pride that I will not soon forget.
