This project started with a customer request to build a vanity from reclaimed lumber. The lumber wasn't the typical barnwood or pallet lumber. I was asked to use reclaimed heart pine from client's grandparents cotten gin from the early 19th century. The gin is long gone but the wood was in storage. I was given a couple example pictures of what they wanted the vanity to look like and dimensions wanted. The raw materials were 1" x 6" floor planks. From the planks I made the legs, drawers and tops. There are only a few pieces of plywood used in the vanity internals. Finish was 3 coats of General Finishes Arm R Seal Satin.
